Thanks, Bill was and is a nice looking fellow. I don't see the resemblance except for our coloring. I think Bill has olive-toned skin, like me. He had really dark hair though, while mine was more dirty blond. Of course we both have white hair now, he just has more on his head and I have more on my face. LOL.

Larry does appear somewhat frail. Where did his delts go? Larry Scott retired from competitive bodybuilding when he was only 28 years old. Perhaps he took his physique in a different direction after that.

Here is another photo of Larry Scott take when he as 73 years old. The other fella is Franco Columbu, another blast from the past. Franco is 71 years old.

These men have lived to a ripe old age and all still look to be fairly healthy. What do you suppose today's bodybuilders are doing different that is causing some of them to become sick and even die really young? Bodybuilder and wrestler Matt DuVall just died. He was only 40 years old.

Have any of you ever experienced soreness in the tendons at the back of your knees. I had this issue come on a few weeks ago. It has persisted. I particularly notice it during and after climbing stairs either up or down.

This morning I did some weight free "good mornings" to see if I could stretch it out. Don't know if it made any difference yet.

I was having issues with my sciatic nerve in this same leg awhile back. I was in the car driving or at meetings sitting most of the day and evening yesterday and never developed sciatic pain. Sitting for long periods previously aggravated my sciatica. Somehow this problem has resolved itself.

Well, I'm off to take my wife to her doctor appointment and then out to breakfast. Breakfast at noon....now there is an issue.

I was thinking that the pain is not from my sciatica, but the tendon that is somehow inflamed. Anyway, I have continued to stretch it throughout the day, which seems to be helping. My range of motion has actually improved somewhat. In a few days I will attempt toe touches. Considering the length of my arms, that should not be too big a feat.  :)

When I was having sciatica issues, the pain was very different, almost like a Charlie horse and in my hamstring not in the tendons. It would come on when I sat for too long a time, like when driving. This bothers me when I am moving about and not when I am sitting. As I mentioned stair climbing or descending is the most aggravating.

shoulders will get blasted today:
Warm up with Bastards( i will put a pic up) no ab training as my midsection is worked well with these.

Giant sets

Seated DB press 3x10
seated side raises 3x10
seated bent over laterals 3x10
standing nieder press with barbell 3x10-15 (works well also with a barbell plate in your hands) every serious martial artist or boxer should do these.

Donny,

I finally got around to checking the link you posted about sciatica. The webpage is loaded with information that I had not considered. I first started having problems with sciatica, it was after I had an issue with my lower back. The doctor diagnosed that as being caused by degenerative disk disease/arthritis in my spine. He prescribed about 8 weeks of physical therapy which I did. Not very many weeks into the therapy, the spasms subsided. I was taught how to do exercises specific to the strengthening the core muscles which affect the spine. Since doing physical therapy, I have had no recurrence of the spasms. However, it was following this episode that I started having an issue with sciatica. The problem only occurred after I was sitting for an extended time period as I previously mentioned. I was the guy people saw who pulled off to the shoulder of the road, getting out of my car and doing squats to relieve the pain. LOL!

I did not associate this latest issue of what I assumed is an inflamed tendon at the back of my knee with sciatica until I read the information you linked me to. Now it seems possible that the problem could be sciatica and has simply moved down my leg. The pain is different from what I had in my hamstring and it is nowhere near as intense as it was before. What really makes me think it could be related to sciatica is that it is in the same leg. Apparently, sciatica often only affects one leg.

For now, I am going to continue doing good mornings when I first get up in the morning and periodically throughout the day to keep things moving. Although I only started doing this yesterday, it seems to have already affected some improvement. This morning I did 2 sets of 10. The first set I did with my hands behind my head. Since I was getting a better stretch then yesterday, I did the second set with finger tips touching my toes. As I mentioned, I have long arms. When I can put the palms of my hands flat on the floor, I will have regained my normal flexibility.

Of course if my efforts to self treat this problem aren't successful, I will see my doctor for further advice. I am not ready to be an invalid yet, if ever!

I just want to go on record by saying that I have missed seeing Karen's posts here recently. I hope all is well with Karen and her family. I would have sent her and email inquiry to this effect, accept that her email address isn't available here and I don't otherwise know it.
