Just so you know, my sister is already making me crazy. I hope her stay here will be short.

After driving back and forth to Salem for 3 days running, a 100 mile round trip, she asked me if I could drive her home tomorrow to get Easter Baskets for her grandchildren our of her locked bedroom. Her daughter has a key to her apartment, but not her bedroom, because my sister doesn't trust that her daughter won't mess with her stuff.

In one day, I have spent about $250 on filling her prescriptions, buying her a blood pressure testing machine and enough clothes to get through the week because she said nothing but the sweats she had on today fit her. When I suggested she give her grandchildren their Easter baskets when she goes back home, she countered that she needed some patches for her shoulder which were at home. I have the feeling she is attempting to manipulate me. Why did she remember all her other medications and forget these patches? In addition, I advised her to make a list of what she needed from her apartment so that we could get it before I drove her to my house.

Why is it some people, like my sister just keep asking for more. Is it not enough that I have devoted three days time to help her out and offered my home to her while she recuperates from the angioplasty? Can you tell she frustrates me?

My sister is the princess that my mom and somewhat my dad raised her to be. She was adopted when I was almost 15 years old.  My mother had all but given up on ever having another child. I understand why this made her so precious to my mother. I am not jealous of her. Our mother is dead. It is just she and I. She is in for a surprise, because I have no tolerance for princesses and drama queens.

Whew! Glad I got this off my chest.

Jay i think you have a good heart but there comes a time to say your opinion. i did this with my brother in scotland. i stopped inviting him over because after a good drink he was like Dynamite.. ??? Told him straight and that was that so we donīt talk much. sad but thatīs life. Anyway Guys and Gals i hit my legs today...
rope jumping 5 mins and 5 mins boxing bag 3x 50 full sit ups.

Supersets...
leg extensions 3x15
Squats 3x10(5 sets but first 2 were warm ups then 3 hard sets with Extensions)

Leg curls 3x15(need to work on my leg curls)
lunges 3x12

standing 1 leg DB calf raises 5x15-20

got to give steve respect on the lunges he does up stairs..lunges kill me. I did them one leg at a time and stationary and not lunging forward. can concentrate better and being honest i was tired.

Thanks for the supportive advice regarding my sister. She has been coughing since early this morning. It is 11:15 a.m. and I think she is just getting up, which is fine because she is supposed to rest. I am worried about the cough though. I looked up dry cough and heart failure on the Internet. According to what I could find, this is sometimes a sign of a heart infection.

On a better note, it is a glorious day here. When I went out to get the paper, there was not one cloud in the sky which is that beautiful shade of light blue that makes on think of summer and being on the beach and enjoying the warm sun. My wife just informed me that it is supposed to be 75 degrees and sunny all today. No wonder I put on shorts this morning when I dressed!

I definitely am going to the gym today. I've been side tracked with other obligations since I went on Monday, but now I need that break from the more stressful routine I've been in. I plan to repeat Monday's work out. What little soreness I had after working out is gone now. It is time to give those muscles another little jolt.

We are having leg of lamb for dinner tomorrow. This is a fitting meal for Easter. Our friend Nancy who will be here for dinner tomorrow is getting steak instead. She doesn't know what she is missing. Her partner and the rest of us all like lamb.

I took a photo of myself at the gym today using my smart phone. I'd thought to post it here as a before photo, since I have been mostly not getting to the gym on any regular basis for over a year now. Unfortunately, after I loaded it into the computer and opened it on a larger screen, it was so disgusting, that I deleted the photo instead. Not only am I old fat and hairy looking, I had a grim expression and the photo was out of focus.

The good news is that I had another (second one this week) great workout. Still using "pussy" weights and sticking primarily to Nautilus equipment, but I did up the weight about 10 lbs. on most exercises. I am using between 60 and 210 lbs. on the weight stack. The lower weight is for no compound smaller muscle groups and the higher for my strength which is legs. I can't believe I was doing 6 reps with 1,000 lbs. on the leg press before I started sloughing off. Now I am using 210 lbs. on the Nautilus leg  press. Still if I increase the weights 10 or more lbs. a week, I'll be back to where I was in no time.
