At present I am doing just one cycle. I am using 17 or 18 different machines. I do 12 reps. on each one.

As soon a the exercise starts seeming easy, I bump up the weight. Some of the equipment allows you to do this in 1lb. increments which is really handy. Most of the others are setup with 10 lb. weights on the stack. One can always throw on a 2.5 or 5 lb. weight if they are ready to increase the weight, but don't feel they can handle 10 lbs.

I work out at Nautilus Plus in Oregon City. I have belonged to this gym for 30 years. During this time, the gym has changed ownership three times. When it originally started it was at a different location in Oregon City nearer to the police station. The original owner was pro wrestler, Billy Jack Haynes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Jack_Haynes . It used to be called Nelson's Nautilus for many years. Myron Nelson, a retired fireman bought the gym from Billy Jack. Being a retired fireman, he offered free or reduced memberships to both firemen and police officers. His sons ran the day to day operations. Preston Nelson continued doing this up until the time Johnny and Lisa Ashy took over the gym. North Lake Physical Therapy has a facility which is attached to the gym and they use the equipment in the gym for their clients http://northlakephysicaltherapy.com/.

The nearest college is Clackamas Community College in Oregon City. It is about 2 miles away.

If you check out the gym's website above, you will see there is something for everyone there. Head bangers (Power lifters) even have their own space where they can blast their favorite hard rock music while they grunt, yell and even sometimes lift a heavy weight. LOL. I like using the pool occasionally when I don't feel like working out but still want to get some exercise.

Because I have been a member for so long, my annual dues are considerably less then those advertised.
looks a great therapy centre..like the pool

When I was a kid I remember my mother telling me that if I ever wanted to get a tattoo, I should get it on the bottom of my foot so no one would ever see it. Guess I got the message since I have no tattoos. There was a time when I thought they were pretty cool and I probably would have gotten some, had it not been for that voice in my head telling me where to put them.  ;D

You are right about them not being the newest Nautilus equipment. I am sure Nautilus has improved a lot since these were installed at the gym. The good thing is there is a lot of different machines which I really like using old or not. The photo doesn't really show how much Nautilus equipment there is there. In the weight room section there is some additional Nautilus machines along with Hammer Strength and other types.

All the Nautilus machines were built around the patten cam gear (Art Jones designed/invention...with exclusive rights), which looks like a nautilus sea shell (hence the name). The only difference is the outer designs of these machines. The heart and soul is the original cam gear housing.  Lot's of phoney machine going around , using the "just like" or "almost like" a Nautilus exercise machine, but not close at all. Unless Jones sold the rights to other company's to use  the gear design or name, to other company's. Or his family did.

I have a tribal/clan tat, call a pe'a body tat. Took about two weeks to finish.  On the whole one side of my pec, delt and arm. Seen the Rock lately, something like that. No modern needles, that's sissy stuff.......had to get it old style island tradition ...hurt like a mofo. Beer helped a lot, even the guy doing my tat's was drinking.  Island ways!

Good Luck.

I've seen videos of Māori's getting tattooed. It looks brutal. I have a high pain threshold, but not a lot of patience. I definitely don't have the patience to put up with something like this for two weeks.

you know jpm you amaze me. If i talk about martial arts like i did on another thread you come over with your "expert" opinion and try to give a history lesson.. to me a guy who has trained for years but aside from this you now say needles are sissy. you have always got to push it son donīt you?. I can assure you, you would not say that to me. Tattoos we did as kids when i was 13/14 with a needle and Indian ink we stole from school art class. i still have these and covered them with professional tattoos. I knew guys who tattooed their hands ,neck,face...i never did this. Donīt talk about needles and tattoos you clown because you know nothing, infact you just get on my nerves with your BS. you are one arrogant asshole.

Good morning Donny, hope your having a wonderful day. And many more of them.

You really take things way too seriously, guess that your nature. Example: That sissy remake was not meant to be taken seriously or literally. Sorry you miss that point. Tat's do cause pain, any one understands this. Just to note; some prison tat's are done with the end of a hot paper clip..open of course.

No sure where you got that "expert" thing, never claim anything like that. I do have a little experience, in different matters, and just passing it on. I like things explained to me, maybe I fault in trying to explain some thing to others with a bit more detail. I don't direct anything I might post to "Donny", just laying it out for the hundreds of others who might come to GB. Feel free to avoid anything I may write on GB, it's your choice after all. You seem like a very emotional and over sensitive chap.

You once wrote that you would like to punch me in the face, among other things..please wait at the end of the line, with all the others. Those PM's you kept sending me were not all that encouraging. But I really could care less. Quite a few other have posted me about you..... your fan base is not all that positive. Notice your extremely patronizing to some, on this thread. Must be a purpose for all that, because that's not your real nature.

Know we will not be BFF, just hoping we can just get along, to get along.  Good Luck.

I USUALLY READ IF I'M IN A TRAINING THREAD YOUR POSTS AND THEY HAVE VALUE AND THEN ARE STAMPED WITH YOUR WAY OF PUTTING THEM SO TO SPEAK,,,SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FIND IT ARROGANT/CONDESCENDING,,,I DON'T NEED TO READ INTO IT TO FORM MY OWN OPINION OF YOU...DONNY IS A GREAT GUY ,,,SORRY ON UR TAKE.
