I was supose to train legs this afternoon but that got squashed.  I met with a girlfriend for lunch today and ordered a wrap with smoked salmon, lettuce, avocado and cream cheese.  I start eating it and notice a burning sensation.  As I keep eating I start swelling and have difficulty breathing.  my friend notices that my chest and neck is all red.  I get up and go and ask the chef (I can see him around the side) if the wrap had mayonaise and he said Yes.  I was horrified as I am allergic to mayonaise.  So I argued with management and told the guy that if it has mayo then advertise it as such don't say it has cream cheese etc.  I refused to pay for my wrap but I was pissed because it's very uncomfortable/painful.  I won't be able to train as the last time I had an allergy from food the exercise pumps the allergy all throughout the muscles/body and I had to go to the hospital and get an injection straight from gym/training.  I guess the good news is that my lips are very full...it looks as though I have had fillers in them but it looks uneven as I ate mostly on my left side.   :-X  I still have pains when I breath as I am swollen inside including my tounge.
Sad to hear, a nightmare day it seems. I hope you are feeling better.

Wednesday - back:

ISO front lat pulldown, 4X12-6 @ 120 to 250 lbs.
ISO bench rows, 4X12-8 @ 110 to 140
Nebula low row, 3X12-8 @ 110 to 160
Hammer reverse grip pull down, 2X10-8 @ 110 to 160
Smith barbell rows, 2X10-8 @ 90 to 110

I also limbered up my knee joints by repeating the Nautilus single leg extensions doing 3X12 @ 45 each.  I worked in with a young fellow who was doing the same thing at the same weight and for the same reason....how weird is that?
Hammer reverse grip pulldown i always loved...just do not have it where i work now... :( nice workouts going on..

I assume you have a mustard allergy, Karen?
Have a speedy recovery!
It was mayonaise instead of cream cheese.  The assholes.   >:(  And thank you DP.  You should post up more often in here.   :)

Thank you Mr Nobody.  I feel bad for my friend more because she had to watch me swell up and yell at the manager.  Instead of having a nice relaxing lunch it ended badly.

Thank you Donny.  No I have always had these allergies.  I am allergic to preservatives in foods and things like mustard, mayonaise...any kind of product that lives on a shelf basically.  So I can have salad dressings made from natural real products such as virgin olive oil and balsmic vinegar but if someone was to put a shelf salad dressing on my salad I would have a terrible allergic reaction.  That's why I am so fussy where I eat because the allergic reactions build up in the body and you get terrible reactions.  I remember crawling out of the gym covered in hives and gasping for air and the needle the doctor rammed into my butt hurt me all day the next day at work....I was in pain.  That was several years ago in Melbourne.  I had eaten something I had an allergy to and then trained 6 hours later spreading the allergy all throughout my body.  Anyway I am feeling better tonight except for some wheezing still.  My throat is husky.  My lips have gone down thank god.  I don't suit big fat lips.  I am still a bit red in the face/neck and chest.  I will train tomorrow.  I will still have some allergy in the body but I will just monitor it and if I get hives etc then I will go to the chemist and get something for it.

No it didn't.  I am totally fine with cream cheese and that is why I ordered the wrap.  This has turned out to be a terrible day.  My daughter just got home from being out with friends and she has been assaulted by a bikie gang member.  A grown man punched my daughter in the face.  I am so upset.  She has seen the police and made a statement but the police won't do anything.  They are scared of the bikies here.

Its getting so dangerous here.  My 16 year old girl gets punched in the face by a grown man and there were four other men standing around with shovels.  She thought they were going to kill her and her friend.  They ran away and knocked on a strangers door and they called the police.  My daughter said she was too upset to make a statement and I have to take her to the police station tomorrow to do it.   She reckons shes never leaving the house again.  There was a girl recently in my home town which was stabbed in the face with a knife and murdered.  They haven't found her killer. Things like this never happened here once upon a time.  The other day a 12 year old girl had a gun held to her head and was robbed at 8.30pm down south in sydney I think.
Thanks for your warm hug DP.

I always thought that Queensland was a heavenly state to life, simply based on the beautiful images I've seen. When it comes to safety, it's sad to hear that the reality is different from that... :-\
Your daughter, and you prob as well, are in shock, which is very understandable, so processing this awful experience takes time. I hope she's able to make that statement tomorrow.
Best to both of you!

Crime is really on the increase here.  The truth is I would walk around NYC at night before I would walk around the streets in my home town simply because there are more police over there and also because there are more people everywhere.  Here it's dark and half the street lights don't work.
She's gone to sleep with a swollen lip and face.  Bruising is already very noticeable.  I will take her down to the police station to make the statement.  Thank you DP.  You are welcome to post regularly in the mature thread.  We are a tight bunch and you are a good sort.  You would fit in.

I haven't been through that much in the past few days...just this allergic reaction to something I ate today.  More upset about my baby getting assaulted and the thing is I told her tonight I wanted her to stay home...that It's dangerous with who is around etc.  Now she will listen to me.  I just had a strange feeling, an instinct if you call it...gut feeling.

Good advice to her, it's what I call the universe talking. See things are governed by things higher than we are as humans.

My daughter is not allergic to mayonnaise, but she absolutely does not like it at all. When she orders a sandwich of any kind, she will tell the server no mayonnaise. When her food is served she always double checks to make sure there is no mayonnaise.

Do you know which ingredient in mayonnaise you are allergic too? Is it eggs, the oil, lemon juice or one of the spices? I've made homemade mayonnaise which is much better tasting than store bought. My wife loves mayonnaise. She only buys one brand though, which is Best Foods. Lately, she's been buying the Best Foods mayonnaise made with olive oil. Olive oil is what homemade mayonnaise calls for.

Have you ever eaten Hollandaise sauce? I ask because it has the same ingredients as mayonnaise, sort of. It is made with egg yokes, butter, lemon juice and a little cayenne pepper. It is served warm over other foods like eggs Benedict or eggs Florentine. Eggs Florentine is one of my favorite breakfast dishes. It is made with poached eggs on a bed of fresh wilted spinach which is on top of a toasted English muffin. The Hollandaise sauce is poured over the top of the dish.

Talking about these yummy foods inspired me. I am taking my girls (daughter and wife) out to breakfast this morning.
