ah yes Karen i saw that on Facebook this morning....nice pic ;) Koala bears look nice, well to me anyway in reality they could be aggressive in the wild. Only ever seen one in Pictures... :(
Only wild blondies who are foaming at the mouth due to a mayo allergy are aggressive.   :D  Koala bears are gentle creatures... :P

Here's the pic for everyone else.   :)

I did chest and arms today. All sets shown are work sets not warm ups:

Dumbbell flat bench 2 sets of 8 reps
Incline dumbbell bench 2 x 8
Flat flies 2 x10

barbell curls 2 x 10
alternate dumbbell curls 2 x 8
single arm pulley curls 2 x12

triceps pulley pushdowns 2 x 10
single dumbbell with two hands 2 x 10 ( lean back on a reversed scott bench)
reverse single arm triceps extensions 2x12

forearm wrist curls 2 x 20
reverse wrist extensions 2 x 15

hanging leg raise 2 x max
hip ups 2 x 22 (lie on back and raise your legs. Push hips toward the sky.)
ab pulley crunches 2 x 30

ivanko grippers 2 x 20

I rested for about an hour then ran two miles. It turned out to be a big mistake on my sore lower calf. I will only walk and bike for cardio for about a month.

The dreaded leg day today:

leg press 2 x 12
squats 2 x 8 then 1 x 1
tuff stuff squat machine 1 x10 (feels different from bar squats)
leg extension 2x20
seated leg curls 2 x 15
standing leg curls 2 x 12

single dumbbell side bend 1 x 15
hanging leg raise 2 x max
hip ups 2 x 22
pulley ab crunches 2 x 25

leg press calf 2 x 20
standing calf  2 x15
leverage standing calf machine 1 x 15
seated calf 2 x 15

neck work.

Really feel drained. Squats went well. I feel my strength is returning. I always use a whey protein after my weight workouts. I'm going to stop and see how it goes. The price of isolate whey is off the charts. I suspect it's just a psychological advantage. I will see.

Being a "mature" person, if I were to hire a trainer, I would prefer someone with some experience and age to a young fellow or gal who has no idea what comes with age. Hopefully you will continue your work as a trainer for many years to come.

My wife has been going to physical therapy. Her therapist has her out on the gym floor doing some exercises, which is great. Her muscle strength is near nothing which is probably causing a lot of the problems she's had lately, like falling. My wife amazed me last night when she asked if I thought it would be a good idea if she joined the gym on a month to month basis. I told her that it was an excellent idea. For the time being, I advised she continue with physical therapy and letting her therapists train her on how to use the equipment. One thing that is so great about the gym is that there are people of all ages working out and people with all manner of handicaps who manage to put forth some effort to be more fit. I think this has inspired my wife some. Not that I am at some unattainable peak of fitness, but I think my wife is a bit intimidated by my commitment to working out.

I did work my back last Thursday, I just haven't gotten around to posting it up yet. Yesterday, I got home from meetings at around 3:30 p.m. and I just didn't feel like going to the gym. I also had a wave of depression come over me which kind of bummed me out too. My son sent me an email that his brother-in-law had died the night before from complications following treatment for colon cancer. He was probably only in his early 50's. I don't know why this upset me so much, but it did. A couple of shots of Tequila numbed the depression and I feel much better today.
