I figured it was going to be Biden but I’m starting to have my doubts. He’s just a horrible candidate. With Warren also going down the toilet, looks like Bernie is in a strong position as he’s going to pick up a lot of her constituents.

Bernie is in a strong position but it seems a lot of powerful demoncrats don't like him. Boozeburg has the powerful democrat support but not the people. Either way, I don't think they can beat Trump and in the mean time they seem content to eat each other alive and destroy their own party. Fuck 'em.

If you go by what happened last time and what usually happens AKA the money wins....it could only be Bloomberg screwing Bernie - because he has more money than Bernie can raise. The big money is about to start flowing and the DNC is telegraphing to donors of that ilk that Bernie is not okay with them.

MANCHESTER, NH - For the past year, Democratic voters have been anxious to settle on a savior capable of defeating President Donald Trump.

The first week of primary balloting was supposed to speed the winnowing of an outsized field of candidates and showcase Democrats’ readiness to take back the White House in November. But an embarrassing meltdown in the Iowa caucus vote count, and a dismal showing by Joe Biden, once seen as the safest choice to unseat the Republican incumbent, have only heightened fears among some Democrats that their party isn’t up to the task.

The early strength of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, the liberal stalwart who has vowed to upend American healthcare and go after corporations and the wealthy, has some voters worried that Democrats will blow their chance to unseat an unpopular president if the party veers too far to the left.

Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary may do little to dispel the collective unease or help bridge the deep ideological split between the party’s liberal and moderate wings. Several recent polls showed the top two vote-getters in Iowa - Sanders and former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg - as the favorites in New Hampshire.

While the primary season is young, voters such as Millie LaFontaine are already feeling a touch of panic. Interviewed Saturday at a Biden rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, the 69-year-old said she wants to back the candidate best-positioned to knock off Trump, but she isn’t sure who that might be.

“I’d like to vote strategically, but we Democrats are in disarray and I don’t know what strategic is,” she said. “I am afraid.”

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — It reached the timelines and Twitter feeds of many voters Sunday that the Nevada State Democratic Party hired a former Pete Buttigieg campaign staffer as its new Voter Protection Director.

Less than two weeks out from the Nevada Caucus and less than a week after the disastrous Iowa Caucus, it was revealed that Emily Goldman, identified as a former staffer of the Pete Buttigieg campaign in multiple screenshots of her social media profiles, had been hired by the state party.


After Iowa and the incredibly tight race there between Senator Bernie Sanders and the South Bend Mayor where Buttigieg has been tentatively announced as the victor though Sanders won the popular vote, much of the attention has turned to New Hampshire, the nation’s first primary, and especially Nevada, the second caucus leading to the Democratic nomination.

James Carville warns of 'end of days' if Dems choose Bernie: 'I'm not interested in being in a cult!'




James Carville, a political strategist and former top adviser to President Bill Clinton, sounded the alarm Monday about the prospect of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., winning the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, calling such a choice the "end of days" for the party.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Carville said the Democrats must defeat President Trump in November or the country will be in an "abyss." But he said many of the candidates, Sanders in particular, are not appealing to enough of the electorate, including African-Americans.

Carville likened Sanders to Jeremy Corbyn, the left-wing leader of Britain's Labour Party who was soundly defeated in December.

“The only thing, the only thing between the United States and the abyss is the Democratic Party. That’s it. If we go the way of the British Labour Party, if we nominate Jeremy Corbyn, it’s going to be the end of days. ... So I am scared to death, I really am," said Carville.

He said African-American voters are not interested in socialism and a revolution and "all this foolishness you hear," but instead want to be sold on a vision for how they "fit into this country."

“If we lose that, we’re going to be the British Labour Party and be out in some theoretical left-wing la-la land,” Carville said, adding that the "country can’t continue" for another four years under Trump.

Carville said he supports Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., for the nomination, hoping the longshot candidate can come out of Tuesday's New Hampshire primary with a strong showing and bring his message to South Carolina. The Louisiana native also compared Sanders' passionate supporters to a "cult."

"There’s a certain part of the Democratic Party that wants us to be a cult. I’m not interested in being in a cult. I’m 75 years old. I’m just not a very culty person," he said.

Tom Steyer has blanketed South Carolina in cash. Over the past seven months, he’s spent $14 million in TV and radio ads, spent over $100,000 on ads in black-owned newspapers, hired 93 staffers, an army of volunteers and assembled the largest state-wide operation of any other campaign.

The billionaire activist has poured more money into South Carolina in a short period of time than anyone in the state can remember — and it’s beginning to reshape the contours of the Feb. 29 primary.

“The unemployment rate in South Carolina has probably dropped an entire percentage point thanks to the Tom Steyer campaign,” said Tyler Jones, a Democratic strategist based in South Carolina. “Every YouTube video that comes on in South Carolina has a Tom Steyer ad in front of it. And he says things that every Democrat agrees with.”

While there hasn’t been much public polling in the state, Steyer’s been in double-digits in all three surveys released this month. According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Steyer is second only to Joe Biden in the state, with Bernie Sanders a close third.

In a state where African Americans are expected to cast more than half of the primary vote, the Biden campaign has long held up South Carolina as his firewall due to the large amount of black voter support he has there. Rival campaigns have struggled to close the gap. But as Steyer continues to not only spend big on TV ads but also on local minority media, he's been able to steadily gain ground among some African American voters.

2020 Democratic presidential primary candidate Bernie Sanders refused to say whether he still backs capping the wages of the top earners in the United States.

The senator from Vermont appeared on CNN on Sunday to discuss his campaign for president with State of the Union host Jake Tapper, who questioned the self-identified democratic socialist about a wage cap policy he championed in the 1970s and remained interested in until at least the early 1990s.

"Early in your political career, way back in 1974, you said that it should be illegal to earn more money than someone could spend in his or her lifetime," Tapper said. "You proposed a maximum wage cap on the highest earners."

Sanders dismissed Tapper, asking if the host had also gone "back to my third-grade essay when I was in PS197 about what I said?"

"We can go back to things that I said in the '70s. I don’t think it's productive," Sanders said, later continuing, "This is what I do believe. When you have three people that own more wealth than the bottom half of America, when half of our people are living paycheck-to-paycheck, when 500,000 Americans are sleeping out in the streets, yes, the rich have got to pay."

He added, "We will raise taxes very substantially on billionaires. No apologies for that."

In 1974, Sanders was 32 years old and several years into trying to launch his political career. He ran for governor of Vermont in 1972 and 1976 and ran to represent Vermont in the U.S. Senate in 1972 and 1974. During his second Senate campaign, Sanders told the Burlington Free Press that "nobody should earn more than $1 million."

As a U.S. House representative in 1972, Sanders introduced a Los Angeles Times opinion piece titled, "How About a Maximum Wage?" into the congressional record. Decades later, he remained interested in a national wage cap, which would, in effect, hike the marginal tax rate to 100% for earners past a certain income threshold.

Sam Pizzigati, the opinion article’s author and an Institute for Policy Studies associate fellow, said he spoke with Sanders about the possibility of a maximum wage in the early 1990s.

"He thought that this was something that needed to be explored and considered," Pizzigati said. "He thought it needed to be part of the public discourse, and that’s why he put the information in the congressional record."

Joe Biden is heading south.

The former vice president abruptly announced on Tuesday morning that he won’t spend primary night in New Hampshire as planned and instead is flying to South Carolina to headline a newly scheduled kick-off rally in the state he’s long considered his campaign firewall.

“We’re going to head to South Carolina tonight,” Biden told reporters as he visited a polling station with voting underway in the state that holds the first primary in the race for the White House. “And I’m going to Nevada… we’ve got to look at them all.”

The campaign confirmed Biden is now canceling his originally scheduled appearance at a primary night party in Nashua, N.H., and will be in South Carolina instead. The New Hampshire party will go on as scheduled without him. […]
