Can't taste much difference between any of the sludge.  Drink a couple of cups for the stimulant effect is all.  Would prefer to quit all caffeine but I'll go bonkers and have no energy.

I suspect that after many years, coffee acts as purely a placebo effect. If you drink the same amount of coffee every day for 10 years, its simply not going to have a physiological effect on you any longer because your body gets used to it. Its like any drug. You have to increase the dose for a desire effect. Thus, any effect the coffee has on one's functioning is purely a placebo effect.

Most people drink coffee because its a cultural "thing." Every morning you have coffee. Its just what youre "supposed" to do.

ps - McDonalds has the best coffee.

Their coffee is pretty good indeed, but I can't say the same about the rest their menu chart. It's not that hard to find a place with better burgers & fries, Burgerking excluded.

Grind coffee the night before, set the timers on the coffee maker, ready to go by 5 am. Two cups in the morning, a Rockstar at 12:45pm like clockwork. No stimulants after that.

Most grinders are ok. Make sure a french press is tight enough. It should take some force to push the press for good filtration. Esp the cheap ones from IKEA push too easily.

The procedure: wait with pouring water till it stopped cooking and wait at least 5 minutes before pressing the fp handle.

Hope this helps, enjoy your coffee sir

Fuck me none of you can make a decent cup of coffee by the sounds of things.  You NEVER grind your coffee the night before, infact if you don't use it in 10 minutes it goes in the bin.

Use filtered water, good coffee beans, pressurized port a filter, steel tamper not the plastic one in the box.  Grind fresh using only a burr grinder and use different size grinds for different pours.  You should get a good crema that holds up to being stirred.
I use a delonghi burr grinder and a delonghi dedica ec680.   Favourite roast is Columbia superior and of course Jamaican blue mountain coffee (though 90% of it in the USA is fake).

Spent years being picky about coffee...have a commercial Keurig machine, did the foo-foo $4 stuff etc....then stomach couldn't take it for a while and I switched to English black tea.

Recently a friend got me started on Taster's Choice instant coffee in the mornings. No shit. It's actually good and no watching/waiting on the coffee maker for your fix. I would have never tried it without an outside influence.

Got lazy over the years and now use K-Cups at home. (Though that is much more pricey than buying a big can of coffee).
($60.00 a month compared to like $10.00 a month)?
Free coffee all day at work if needed, but I normally just have one there after lunch to keep me from getting tired feeling...

On a serious note, what do you guys add to your coffee?  I just use the cheap great value K cups and add a shot of skim milk, cause I'm trying not to consume any extra sugar, but this definitely leaves something to be desired and DOES not compare to adding flavored creamer lol.
Is there another healthy but better tasting option?

McDonald's can be OK, not great, OK, however, it's inconsistent. Why? They often are either cold or they rush to brew you a fresh pot and pull it before it finishes making it waaay too bitter and bold

McDonald's has Free Coffee Week two or three times each year in Canada ... that's when I go to McDonald's. :)

Do they have the same promotion in the U.S.?

Also, some McDonald's have free refills year-round.

Good question. Most of us probably don't add sugar.  I live a little bit on the edge and usually add one Splenda.  Are you guys fussy about particular artificial sweeteners?  Or do you like your coffee "black, strong, hot, and keeping you up all night?" (no homo)

Agree 100% on this.  Had their coffee once and thought it was awesome....then the next few, not so much.

Currently I've been hitting 7-11 each morning (on vacation), but working on the ship we have coffee 24-7 in our cafeteria, however the quality coffee they provide us isn't the greatest, but being a bar manager I swing by our coffee bar in which we provide premium coffee's to our passengers, in which I always opt for our delicious Kona coffee, I also have an employee from Cuba who brings me coffee from there whenever he comes back from vacation. Special mention to Nescafe, when in Thailand this is what you will see pretty much everywhere, I love their instant coffee, good stuff.

Royal Caribbean Cruises? Used to work one of their ships (Majesty of the Seas) in my early 20's.

I use a Moka Pot for my coffee but I fucked it up today.  Grinding the beans up is always better but if you keep your coffee in stone wear containers, its preserved

No.  Just no.  If you are talking about their foo-foo coffees, they aren't bad but their regular coffee sucks Goodrums dick.

Tim Hortons
Dunkin Donuts
Krispy Kreme.

Those are my top 3.

I've a dolce gusto machine, I only use it for the hot chocolate drink, coffee isn't my thing, I'd rather a cup of tea
