I have yet to read or experience a valid explanation of how this is uniquely different than American engineering when it comes to cars (and I have driven late model E63S and M4)
The decisions made by a head Engineer in one country will be different than the decisions made by a head Engineer in another. Compare the Porsche 911 to the Corvette and the Nissan GTR. The purpose of each car is essentially the same, but the way the Engineers have gone about it is radically different. Think about all the decisions that have to be made regarding the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, body, and brakes.
