When Irma hit Miami, police told residents to stay home and that the police couldn't get to them if they needed help.  Miami is a very dangerous place.

What happens if criminals, knowing this, start breaking into homes to steal your food, water, medicine, and to rape your women?  You can't count on the police, and you have no guns to defend your family, your stuff and yourself.  What's your plan in that situation?

What does the law have to say about shutting looters? I assume each state is different.

In such a situation I've found people can be very rational. So I would TACTFULLY explain to them why it was poor planing as well as bad life choices that put them in this situation and then politely ask that they stop trespassing.

The odds suggest that the looting was a drastic measure, as the foot locker has been open for years and the employees their should be unarmed, and 90% of the time there is not an issue.

A bigger fear would be I find a man in bed with my wife and daughter (consensually of course) and I do have a gun readily available.

I think they live in euro twink countries where even the police don't have guns so it's kind of a moot point to them. All they can do is hope for the best and like Be There said you make sure you don't look like an easy victim. And yes criminals sometimes don't think too logically and say I shouldn't fuck with this big guy, so there is always a slight chance of an attack regardless of who you are.
