Nope, your doctors info is false on testosterone itself and its influence on the prostate. This is common knowledge at this point for those who specialize in that field. You can argue with Crisler all you want. Could care less what they do when the premise is false. As stated is there a rampant amount of young men with prostate cancer/issues? No, so there is something else that is the cause. Potentially estrogen/testosterone imbalance.
My doctor told me that a test level of 220 is fine because it fell within the range of 200-1000. He was right.....if I was 80. Don't take their word for gospel. Many do not stay up to date and some are simply set in their ways.
I guess if your dr is uninformed enough to do that then you wouldn't want to go on test. Pretty dumb to not be giving out an ai/monitoring estrogen levels. Either lower dose or administer ai.
Prostate growth takes a life time of growth. It effects a huge percentage of men as they age. An enlarged prostate does effect some younger steroid users. Steroid use is an illegal subculture. It does not exactly lend itself to subsidized studies of recreational users. Since you're a fan of steroids nothing can change your mind so you rationalize your use.
Here's a lesson on how bodybuilding drugs began. America dominated Olympic lifting. Out of no where the Soviets burst onto the scene in the late 50's and early 60's. Dr.John Bosley Ziegler was a lifter in the York Barbell gym in PA. Drinking with the coach of the Soviets he learned they were using huge amounts of straight testosterone. The Soviet coach told him he was losing athletes because they had trouble urinating because of enlarged prostates and they had to catheterize them self to urinate.
Male sex steroids have two effects. One is an androgen or male sex characteristics and the other is anabolism. Too much use of straight testosterone was the contributor to the side effects of heart disease and prostate growth. Dr. Ziegler wanted to have a form of testosterone that would put American Weightlifters in his gym back on top of the world standings in Weight lifting without the side effects. He developed the first anabolic steroid Dianabol. It had lower androgen effect with higher anabolic effects. His first use of it they used too low of a dose. When the Olympic lifters started too much of it they had liver problems. The soviets were winning the race to a better steroids than straight testosterone. After 1960 the American anabolic race was on. Anavar, Winstrol, Anadrol 50 and others soon followed.
On a side note he regretted developing anabolic steroids. He said athletes have now become drug addicts. He blamed his own heart disease on his own use of anabolic steroids.
I remember being in the gyms in the late 70's and early 80's. No one would mess with straight testosterone. Everyone felt it was too dangerous. I would hear some guys say the only ones who use it are power lifters. Now straight testosterone is huge again in the sub culture of drug use to get muscles for cosmetic purposes.
