Coach, what do you feel is the actual gain for doing weights for the purpose of cycling? is it more posture/pain prevention? Weight target to optimise power/weight?
I am geared crazily towards anaerobic and raced keiran some time ago. I can sprint well but not a pure sprinter. a 20-30 second effort is where i am at the top.
My experience has been heavy weights plus riding and low dose test for blood was not as effective as light weights (as in.i could train.3x/wk the time bodypart without problem and no doms) plus riding plus low dose test for blood.
There is always a mixture of bodytypes at the track. big muscle guys, dudes at 80kg, dudes that are fat. No bodytype really seems to overwhelmingly win. in fact the big muscle guys dont seem to win all that much.
Are trainers looking to keep bodyweight down now? I'm also talking hypothetical athletes who are 'on'. Trends change over time so is it more mobaility stuff.and injury prevention?
