Maybe it wouldn't be. However, a live performance/debate employs a variety of different communication tools not readily used in written format. How many Getbiggers do you think are the same in person as they are posting here. How many posts do you believe are misinterpreted?
There's no way to know the answer to that, because you'd need to have met them all in person to certify the consistency between online behavior and real-life behavior.
That said, there's two kinds of people the Internet: People who are the same online as offline, and those who adopt a persona on the Internet that wouldn't be compatible with their real-life deportment. Generally speaking, most anonymous people fall in the latter category, while those who put their heads above the ground have less incentive to be fake or act differently.
That said, I'm one of those people who falls in the first group. I see no reason why the Internet requires switching gears. I'd call Vince Goodrum fat and ugly to his face. I'd tease you about your baldness and liberalism if I saw you in person. I'd stand by my political persuasions in any argument with anyone here. And so on.
