Weight lifted today: 1 set of dumbbell military presses, 60 pounds, 20 reps. It felt easy. Depending on my mood and level of fatigue I have gone as high as 75 pound dumbbells for 15+ reps.. But today I didn't feel like it. That's it- one set. Shoulders feel great with high reps. I no longer push it on overhead movements. Too much joint risk for little reward.
Then I did a half hour sprint workout on my bike outside, 5 sprints of approximately 10 seconds each, ranging from ~1000 watts warmup to ~1600 watts on the final. I'm happy with that as a road racer. It was 43 degrees here in South Carolina today so that was all I wanted to be outside for
I'm a true believer in HIT training. In 2 days I'll do dumbbell benches and rows. In another two days I'll do arms just because I like doing them. You really don't have to because of the compound movements. All exercises are 15-20 reps, one set. I don't even bother warming up.
My weight workouts take 5-10 minutes. I know I'll get kicked of Getbig now because I hardly lift, hahaha,
