Now that I have a better idea where to place the bar and tighten my core, it makes the reps more stable.
I was reading the thread about the Vince Gironda 8 X 8 routine and was wondering if there is merit to it ?
Not if you are trying to increase your max strength.
Good for bodybuilding though. Vince said to only use it for 4-6 weeks I believe, very short rests between sets, even as little as 10 seconds.
For max strength keep reps per set at 5 or less. 15 reps total work sets is a good volume like 3 sets of 5, 5 sets of 3, 54321, etc. Rest 3-5 minutes between sets or even longer.
You are developing neural efficiency. Training your body to more powerfully contract the muscles.
Look up cycling. Doesn't have to be complicated. Basically take 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, repeat kind of thing. Progress until you get stuck, then back off, start climbing again, repeat.
