Box squats done like that are basically just an assistance movement for equipped powerlifting. Without a suit you can't "sit BACK with shins upright" and they actually try to get the quads out of the movement. Many of the equipped box squatter record holders had almost no quad mass. But I think the box squats can be a "fun" movement and can get you stronger overall.

Yes, assistance for sure.  And you are right about the "fun" part, as it's good to mix things up.

Won't do shit for hypertrophy, but that's not why I use them.

You guys are the ones who set the standard and demanded I live up to it. So now I am doing the same the standard is ATG Squats with a video or pic of bottom position for the form police. Funny all of a sudden no one else trains squats anymore after telling me it was the GETBIG standard. Fuck a box squat.

Does anyone notice anything odd about this squat rack? At what angle could a photo be taken where the distant support look so much lower than the near one?
Now that you`ve brought it to my attention,that looks very odd and very much altered.

Notice how the near squat rack support has protective caps on it while the far one appears to have none. Also, the lighting is off. Usually, something nearer to the camera appears brighter than what is farther way. In this case, it is just the opposite.

Today I did power cleans (with my wrist straps), chest, and sprints with Walter, his gf, and another Getbigger whose board name I forgot (sorry Mike ?).

I’m getting better on the cleans, I will post a photo to ask for input on proper form. I can pull so hard now that I almost go airborne.

We did 40 yard sprints (not sure why they picked that distance); my quickest time was 5.2 seconds but I didn’t have the best shoes on for sprinting though.

More importantly we went for blueberry pancakes afterwards.

You dont squat anymore nor does Jeff. If my bilateral titanium knee bolts are not a valid excuse what can yours possibly be? I have herniated disc and crooked spine as well so dont start with that shit next

I took 5 years off,when will you grasp this you dumb fuck.....just trained legs twice in a gym in a week and a half....I may squat again somewhere down the road but not yet when I can handle far more weight doing leg presses and keep my back injury free.

Besides I`ve done every rep scenario and intensity technique there is for legs and while I got stronger than shit in squats.......my quads grew very little from all the energy expended.

I suspect that too much TRT is a Pandora's Box within a box.  It is medically sound but with caveats.    I admire you for your admonishment of bhanky.  It can be difficult to tell someone that doing what he is doing only makes a tiny turd a huge pile of shit.  Keep telling it like it is my dear friend and he may yet learn to listen. 

Oh yes.  I did not lift today. It has been quite some time since I have trained.  I need to listen to my doctors more than the desires of my ego.

I see no need to try to hurt myself at 67 and waste valuable time trying to build a monster squat just to appease you.............I`m going in the Masters Nats not a power meet.
