So now strict curling is not athletic and just technique you don't think there is any strength involved you don't think someone who can curl their bodyweight is an athlete?

I think it's a combo of strength and technique.

A 150lb curl is strong.

Personally though, I think it's dumb and an accident waiting to happen.

Also, I guess they don't drug test?

Just curious how come you said you couldn’t curl it and I couldn’t then when I did it became curling isn’t athletic

There will be soon enough. I am going to try it again next week it was actually fun and didn’t bother my ligaments or tendons yet of course I didn’t push it to the limit.

Well for one my right knee feels like it is going to explode from the inside when I squat so yeah I am being careful with that so far strict curls feel great nothing urgent about it just having fun I actually enjoy training

Yeah he said Flethcers org uses the Ivanko but Raw and Strict Curl Nation both use the gopher. He said those are 3 top orgs and Flatcher is 3 points of contact including head while others are just back and butt regardless he competes in all 3. The gopher felt very different than my EZ Curl bar you want to train with what you would compete with I may get one but they are 165$ and kids xmas comes first so may be a month or 2. In the meantime hopefully the gym buys one and gets a real platform. But yeah it was just fun doing single heavy reps with other people and this girl really was built like a tank and the trainer I have known for 20 years he is a "natural pro bodybuilder" and of course the other meathead from the gym and the record holder was a good group to train with fun workout. We were also set up in the cardio room not regular weight room so was a change of scenery

Back in the early to mid 1970`s....I know...I know  LOL  ;D ....the head of our powerlifting team held a deadlift contest along with a three lift contest with 60 pounds under your bodyweight for as many reps as possible at the YMCA where we trained.....no gyms back in those days unless you wanted to go to a "health club" where guys trained in Speedos with chrome weights, and tiger striped covered naugahyde equipment....NO HOMO..........it was dips with a 60 pound dumbell,seated press behind the neck,and strict curls with your back against a wall......all with 60 pounds under whatever the fuck you weighed......I had never done dips before in my life as I had just joined coming straight out of my basement gym....so I got only 8 deep reps...killed the PBN....and his brother was closing in on me cuz he did a lot more dips than I did......but I was out in front and all I need to do was 6 more curls to beat his brother for the highest total number of reps combined.....on my last rep of curls which would have given me first place,my back never left the wall,but I did put my head down looking at the bar and breathing heavily,and re-psyching myself up.....I was determined to get at least two more reps no matter what.....THEN,he stops me and tells me my head had to stay in contact with the wall so his brother won and I got second place.....I argued my ass off cuz the rules on the entry form stated the back only had to stay against the wall but I didn`t push it though I felt that I won,but of course there was a conflict of interest with his brother competing,great guys though, and great memories.......after the dust settled I took second place like a champion......we used a straight Olympic bar.

I used to enter a lot of odd lift contests back when I was powerlifting.

My best friend and former training partner could outdo me on pull-ups or chins by a wide margin.  He was usually about 50-60 pounds lighter, but made up for that (and more) with added weight on a dip belt.  At 170-175, he could hang 135 from his waist and nail a good 8-10 reps, strict, full ROM.  Had he ever done a cycle, I have no doubt he could've done chins with 180.

However, his flat bench 1RM was ~275.  He was a terrible squatter and struggled like a madman to use maybe 60% of my natty working set weights.

In brief, I destroyed the guy on literally every other lift.  I could easily rep out* poundages that he would be lucky to lift for singles.  (*In my universe, "repping out" means something you can do with good form for 12+ reps.)

Was he stronger than me?

The point flew over your head at a very high altitude, indeed :)

Here's the thing: if you can strict curl more than Krank, you're stronger...in that lift. 

It doesn't mean you're stronger overall, anymore than my friend's outstanding pullups meant he was stronger than me.

However, I also say this: I LIKE the strict curl stuff, and I find the records impressive.  So, if you can beat some records, more power to you, Brian.  I hope you do.

you can't even squat 315 and you are on anadrol and 1200 mg of test a week for a decade you claim TRT.

I have never even tried a heavy deadlift but you just declare you can deadlift more?? How does that work??
