just throwing this back out there because this same post  started a train of posts on ironage that caused the one member to get so upset he put a contract out on the guy who recommended the book to him.

"Iron Game" seems like a interesting read, but it's a rare book($100 a copy seems the going rate). Steve Neece was the basis for "Moby".

Put a hit on him. That's awesome. Internet bodybuilding message boards is serious business.

It's a tiny little paperback too, it makes reference to all the big G4P things in Venice during the 70's, so it seems interesting, but not $100+ interesting. The guy that wrote it seemed to be a small time gay porno producer too, so there are probably all sorts of embarrassing thing about folks in it.

How the fuck hasn't anyone just plagiarized it and put it on the Internet.

I just don't think enough people remember it or there are enough copies out there for someone to do it. From my understanding it only had one run, and then the guy died. I only know about it because the old timers use to joke about it.

i actually mentioned this book on ironage and one member wanted a copy real bad not realizing the tone of the book. he bought the book paid way too much for it of course and wanted to kill the guy who sold him the book because he didn't tell him what the book was actually about. i actually bought the book when it first came out not realizing the subject matter got a laugh out of it and didn't think much of it till the dawn of the internet. i still have a copy but would be hard pressed to find it in my menagerie. ;D ;D

Thanks Crownshep, wow Mick Limeric put out a contract? I always thought he was mild manered Ivan Dunbar lol.
Jimmy Thomson gets a mention. I knew Jimmy well  as he was the volunteer trainer at the gym where i started at back in 1970. I remember he stayed in LA for the summer around 1973 and he trained at Golds and he said the guys were involved in gay porn movies. Sprague was apparently their agent. A lot of top bodybuilders apparently indulged in bumfoolery back in the day lol........Jimmy Thomson was a top finance guy, chartered accountant and MBA and a great physique. Jimmy was a millionaire with his investments and a friend of Jimmy Saville., NABBA president in the 60's and 70's.  He got cancer around 2000 and the drugs messed with his mind, this is why he started spilling the beans.

Maybe the Kindle version will be out soon.

Who was that getbigger who used to post all sorts of shady stories about various bodybuilders from the '60s-'90s?  I forget his name but he was awesome.
