TA, this is laughable and ironic coming from you.

Zane is the EPITOME of "all drugs" He ate like a bird and won the Mr. Olympia, yet off the drugs he would be all of 125lbs soaking wet eating like that.

You're not exactly the brightest when it come to debates like this are you??

I've always said in past posts, that getting 30,40 or 50lbs over contest weight is useless and has absolutly no scientific basis!

Yeah, but didn't your mentor Rory like to have his guys eat and eat and eat Intense? Did he have you follow this?

I saw the Diet that Rory gave Mr. Intenseone for getting lean....It is a really good diet and maybe he will post it with that great picture.

He did, we used to smorgaboards and stay until we got kicked out, but that was the thinking back then. As I got older I realized that eating that much was counter productive and gaining 30-40lbs over contest weight to gain only a few pounds of muscle and suffer to lose that weight was too difficult, but because of my age back then I could eat and eat and still be relativley lean (no more than 20-25lbs) and even nowadays IMO is too much weight to carry for an offseason weight.

Was it true that Frank was below 170 in the offseason?

In his journal he writes his weight down alot and it is around 190 usually.

Meal 1 - 4 eggwhite omlette (plain), 1/2 slice of toast, coffee

Meal 2 - 6-8oz fish, 1/2 potato, water

Meal 3 - 6-8oz fish, water

Meal 4 - 4-6oz fish, salad with vinagar, water

I followed this for about 3 weeks, this was done because it was the last qualifier before the Nationals. I don't recommend this!

I believe the Rheo egg was a raw egg whipped in a bowl ( with a fork, a whisk broke the fat in the cream down too much ) with a little half & half. I am going to e-mail him and ask him, although the answer might be in his training diaries book.

Frank used beer and wine in moderation with his meals ( one or two drinks a day maximum ) to stimulate his appetite. I recall being at a seminar 5 weeks prior to the 79 Olympia where he made this statement.

Adonis, you are looking fantastic.

The Beef.

In regards to the "Rheo Blair egg" :

Irving Johnson, ( AKA Rheo Blair ) did not believe in cooking eggs in boiling water but recommended cooking many eggs at one time in water maintained at 181 degrees for 31 minutes. The eggs were then left in the water to cool down slowly. Blair claimed that putting the eggs under cold water "shocked" many of the nutrients, rendering them ineffective and that cooking eggs in this fashion preserved much of their nutritional value.

That is something I had not read before . . . I must have been thinking about Vince Gironda's egg theory's.

You have never tried to grow on low calories therefore you don`t know if it will work.

It WILL WORK, you just have never tried it out of fear. Am I right?

Simple logic: If I don't gain muscle right now at 3500 calories, how can I gain muscle eating 2500 calories ?

2500 calories is what I was eating pre-contest last year when cutting down in the last few weeks of the diet

For some reason TA thinks that everyone's metabolism is like him. I've never heard of a male eating 1100 calories and not shriveling up. I need anywhere from 2200-2700 calories per day or I lose weight too fast.

MY diet is VERY similar that I have been following. With a few exceptions.  Here it is, straight from his own diary!

5 egg omelet with 3 ounces cheese and chicken
2 cups of coffee
8 ounces of chicken and diet soda
Milk
Protein Powder
Coffee
16 ounces of fish with 1 Lite Beer.

This was followed for a few weeks prior to the 1980 Olympia.

Bodybuilders are overfed pigs.

There is no reason to consume mass quantities of food if you are Natural and especially if you aren`t taking that Insulin and GH garbage.

arent you the guy who used to say, 'monster undereating'?

hinestly though, i agree what they promote in the magazines is so ridiculously overboard that anyone trying to eat that much would be fat as fuck. i dont even count anything anymore or take any supps at all even protein powder. i just eat whenever i feel like it. and i look better actually than when i was trying to 'eat big to get big'

Did Zane have a drinking problem?

a beer or two a day is hardly a drinking problem...Some Doctors believe that 2 drinks a day is actually good for the heart...esp. if its red wine...I don't necessarly believe it for i believe its just propaganda.  Just like every year some doctor will say coffee is good for you...Doesn't take a genius to realise that anything that speeds up the system is hardly good for the ticker...
