Alls i said is this...If they pass all the zoning codes and its perfectly legal...what is the legal opposition..
Dont get me wrong..they do have some balls...who ever they is...i dont like it..but in accordance with what our country was founded on, and what makes us different...i have to side with the durkas...
check it. If there was a kkk member who was in the middle of LA giving his hate speech, and someone tried to block him, i would defend the KKK member even though i dont agree with his message or the spirit of what he is doing...i have to say that as an American it is his right. No matter how uncomfortable it makes anyone feel
Well, for starters, they only own 50% of the site they think they're building it on. Con Ed owns the other 50% and any sale of property by them is subject to review by a NY state commission as Con Ed is owned by the state. When this came out recently, the people heading up this mosque project acted dumbfounded and oblivious. So yes, there are legal ramifications that still need to be sorted out on this.
The fury to push this mosque through when issues like that are still coming out really shows that there is an underlying agenda to push this project through. When you look at this and then look at the 80-year-old church that stood under the WTC and was destroyed in the attacks still not having been rebuilt 9 years later due to being tied up in bureaucratic tape and this whole mess stinks.
Where's the due diligence on this? It took this long for it to come out that these people don't even own the entire site where they think they're building this mosque? What exactly did the zoning commission analyze then?
