OH.....one last thing...of the two groups, I dont see people with kids starting threads needing to re-affirm their lifestyle and attacking people with no children.

reeks of self-doubt   ;)

Not having kids = A tiny foot note in history

Having kids = Being part of an ongoing story. Being a chapter in a larger narrative. Feeling a love that you could never have imagined. Realizing that life is no longer about you and finding meaning in that.

I'm pretty thrilled that most Getbiggers don't want children......I support that.

Dude, come on.  ;D

Maybe I am an optimist, but I think most people who are scared to have kids make the BEST parents. I'm not saying I'm a good parent, but I never planned to get married and never planned to have any kids and now I have a fucking shit load of them.  ;D

God damn, they are cute as hell though.  :o

Because its not true. And people who have kids it's not socially acceptable to say they would rather not have them. Yes many act like it, but few come out and say it.

ummm.  how would you know. this is EXACTLY what I mean.  a guy that has no kids "knows" that most people with they didn't have them.....OK then

I have had hundreds of conversations with other parents and I can't remember anyone ever giving the slightest inclination they wish they never had kids....but you know better....ha ha

I don`t want to sound like a total asshole here, but you and your child will be as relevant to history and the universe as the last turd you flushed down the toilet.  :-\

No, he came knocking on my door at 4 am one night on a weekday from 80 miles away saying that he had enough of his kids and wife and asked if he could stay.

TIME Magazine Glamorizes Life Without Children

"The smart, educated, well-bred people have stopped reproducing.

The not-so-bright Rachel Jeantels of the world are breeding like rabbits.

We are *LIVING* "Idiocracy."

Scary times indeed."

I guess I just see it differently. I think that life (and reality) is a series of ever more complicated narratives. Each story, in some small way, builds on the last. And sometimes the smallest stories have the most meaning.

Yes i do thanks for seeing that stud. Key work conversations. Just observe people you can tell they were happier before having kids. They don't come out and say it. I'm sure there some upsides to having kids by I stand by my statements. If you don't believe me ask True Adonis, he has no interest in having kids and posts all those witty ecards.

Not gonna lie - this one made me LOL, though I'm  on the different side of the fence in regards to wanting kids... but nevertheless, it was funny  ;D

If you believe that consciousness gives life meaning and that the additive consciousness effect of familial narrative storytelling has a compound effect on how the universe is perceived and granted meaning by the gift of our perception, then yes, family is really the only game in town.

OK, I'll grudgingly admit I was "happier" before having kids.   >:(

Life might not be about being happy. Who knows.
