hanky, I dont brag on here, cause what am I gonna brag about, I got my GST check and now Im rich? No. But today Im gonna brag to give you perspective on what a dink you are.
In Regina homelessness is insane, and there is a tent city called Camp Marjorie with 54 tents and many homeless. The put out a post needing stuff. Yesterday I had 86 dollars in my bank account that had to last me til my check comes Friday. I took that 86 dollars, bought food for some people in that camp, I gave some young man my winter jacket, donated 2 sleeping bags and some of my clothes cause they need that stuff. Yup, I have 0 dollar and 0 cents until Friday, but Ive been there before and know I can make it. I can hit the food bank for food. I always make it. But those people are in rougher situations than me, at least I have a roof over my head.
So ya, good for you and your private club, clearly it makes your life better which is why you are so angry all the time. No, I dont post this for pity, why the fuck would I want pity when I like my life?
Get some humbleness you arrogant twat. And my gawd dont get on here now saying how you donate to charities, its beyond clear you have no ability in your pea brain for that kind of thing
Your concern and charity for others is extremely commendable. No doubt, it is born of your own experiences. Some people, like Bhanky have no humility because they have unfortunately never been humbled.
The number of homeless camps around Portland is astonishing and very sad. The City Council or whoever is responsible for cleaning up the garbage generated by these folks are failing miserably just as they are at creating affordable housing. It has been pouring rain and windy the last few days. I could not imagine a more miserable existence than to be homeless in inclement weather until you posted about the homeless folks in Regina. Windy, chilly and wet is bad enough....freezing to death in a homeless camp is way, way worse.
I have never been homeless, thank goodness. But, I have been broke a time or two and that felt pretty crappy, even though I had family to bail me out. One of those times was when my wife and I moved to Williams Lake, B.C. with our 5 year old son. We had plans to homestead with another couple, which didn't pan out. I was working for a painting contractor who decided to go on vacation to Vancouver instead of paying his employees.
Jobs weren't plentiful in Williams Lake in the winter. I'd gotten a traffic ticket in Prince George which I hadn't paid because, well, I didn't have the money to pay it. It was not long before the RCMP showed up at the door to arrest me for not paying the ticket. It was very traumatic for my wife and son, as you might imagine. Fortunately, the money my aunt sent cleared the bank, I paid the ticket and we hightailed it (with our tails tucked) back to Oregon. Driving in fog so thick that I had to open the door to see where the center line was on the Fraser Canyon highway. I was 28 years old.
