I'm sorry, but Dorian simply did not know how to hit a rear double bi. He needed to take a deep breath and arch his back. In his version, he always looks hunchbacked and scrunched up at the shoulders.

Now the guy who just came in 8th at the master's O knows how to hit the pose. So does Chick for that matter.

personally, I think at 225 pounds, Ronnie looks weird - his frame does not look good with that amount of muscle - his arms overpower his chest.

He needed to be around 245 or so to fill out (eg. 98 Olympia etc)

what i don't get are the claims that ronnie near the beginning of his olympia reign wasn't incredible, as nd attempts to do. flex wasn't his 93 best, but still incredible. nasser was near his peak. levrone as well, not to mention chris cormier in 1999 or shawn ray always up there. sure in 2001 and 2004 he was the "established" champion and got some gimmes, but in 1998 he was the underdog, he was a lower-ranked guy and a met-rx athlete.

if politics were what gave him his victories, the late 1990s make no sense because wheeler should have taken it. he was the favorite, the classical physique, far less blocky than dorian, and he'd just had a kid. on paper he was the clear winner. yet apparently the lackluster and gut-ridden ronnie coleman was given a victory just to piss everyone off.

Who is claiming Ronnie was great looking in 1998? I've maintained he looked excellent from 96 to about the 2001 ASC

Yeah its my scan , you can usually tell because there is a line down the middle of the pic for some unknown reason , I've cleaned the scanner and its still there , who knows , I've noticed on other sites people have using my scans and putting their watermarks on them lol but hey its the internet let everyone share the pics .

hmmm... there doesn't seem to be many shots of Ronnie "just standing there" in his pre-gut form- other than contest pics of course. Pre-gut Ronnie always looked amazing standing relaxed due to his cartoon like taper:

More "iron age quality" comparisons: in one, Coleman's sideways while Ruhl's facing forward, in the other Lavrone's flexing and Coleman's not.
