Wife is half Venezuelan from Venezuela. She is happy and optimistic about this. Madura was a dictator in every sense of the word.
Country is a disaster with the Government in bed with drug lords. Crime, poverty, civil distress, and everyday living is brutal for the citizens.
She hasn't been able to go home to see her family in over 12 years. Friends have been reaching out to her saying "Sorry'' about what happened and she says "No I'm glad this happened"
Is it political a money and power grab by the US? Yes, but the average Venezuelan abroad and in their home country doesn't care. They just want to be able to live free from a socialist dictator and be able to afford milk, bread, other essentials and be able to travel home without consequences.
