Eye gouging and biting were both illegal in the first UFC.

Actualy, only biting was, eye gouging and ball shots were perfectly legal

Watch Joe Son vs Keith Hackney if you dont believe me

I gladly would and I would fight any karate Black belt at any time and anwhere without even a thought that I had the slightest chance of loosing.

News flash, Bas was taught at golden glory fight club in Holland which is a kickboxing/muat Thai school, he is also well rounded and versed in subs.
Andy Hug would get owned by any BJJ blue belt or wrestler in a street fight.

Yeah I'm sure you would own Andy Hug.

Im sure I would too, I would take his ass down in the first 5 seconds, like any wrestler would, and he would be a fish out of water, then I would proceed to put my fists and elbows through the back of his head.

It would be the exact same thing that happened to all Karate fighters when they fought a wrestler or BJJ guy,

In a K1 fight, your right, im sure he would.

In a wrestling match or MMA fight, I would win easily.

Bas Rutten is great, but he's no Bob Sapp. Who else joins K-1 and never kicks?

ok. rearblackbelt karate, you say that you are 48, shouldnt you be doing SOMETHING ELSE other than posting karate stories on a bodybuilding board?  like spending time with your kids, wife, or whatever NORMAL 48 yr. olds do?

Some people have questioned why a second degree black belt in Shotokan Karate would be giving advice on a weightlifter board. Well I did in fact train weights as a younger man. I lied about my age because I didn't want to seem like an old timer. I'm actually 48 not 38. I'm no spring chicken. I have a very slight beer gut. As I said, I'm 6' 255 pounds. Pretty damn impressive for a 48 year old that never touched steroids in his life. I've always had a good base and never really needed to work out very much.

That's your problem. You think you are impressive, but that happens only in your mind. To anybody else you are just another old fart. I know, I am 47 myself. I don't have any illusion about my look, it doesn't mean anything to me. I am 178cm and weight 117 kilos, my body fat is around 12-15%, so I don't have a beer belly. I have black belt too, one from judo(I dan), one from Koryu Uchinadi-karate (III dan) one from Ki-aikido(Nidan II- dan), that's not a big deal. For this age, you have plenty of time to hang around. Point is this; If we put you in to perspective, you are nothing. Just another old fart with an attitude. Try to live with that.

Weight training translates to martial arts very well because obviously it adds to the power of your strikes. Grab a few light weights after you perform a workout and do punches with your shoulders raised. This is good for your deltoids. You'll notice all boxers have powerful deltoids. It's very important for fighting. This sort of activity is also great cardio. Weightlifters should definately learn martial arts. Just think how much more confident you are as a bodybuilder with large muscles. Add the confidence that martial arts brings and you will feel great.

Only major improvement which I have been able to bring from martial arts to weight lifting is flexibility. On another way around benefits are clear; I have more weight and more power. If I do Kokyu-nage with full power, I can send uke to orbit...but there isn't anything new about that. It is common knowledge, so what is your point? There isn't any.

Today I was standing in line at the bank and I waited a long time before moving to the teller because I knew the guy behind me(a young guy with a peirced nose) wouldn't do anything because of my imposing size combined with my karate experience. This confidence permeates every aspect of your life. Not just fighting. It's a whole new attitude and it's a responsibility. I'm in a happy place right now. I don't want to preach, but it helps if you have Jesus in your life. Jesus gets me through every day and keeps me from doing the wrong thing.

What he should be doing while waiting in line in the bank. F*uck you in the ass? Beat the hell out of you, because you are standing in front of him in line? Did you really scare in there? You have train karate because you are afraid that some pierced punk rape you in the bank?  You hate people which you don't know, you call them punks, you are afraid of them. You imagine yourself to beat a living shit out from that pierced punk, and you get a "hard-on" from that. You are mentally sick, uncertain homophobic and you are just plain hypocritical when you talk about Jesus. You are just full of shit.    ;D ::) ;D

I told the bank teller what I do when I went to the window and made sure I was loud and clear, and I looked at him when I said it. Keep in mind this punk also had his left ear pierced. You know what that means. I don't like that kind of person standing so close to me in line.

Who cares how many piercings the guy had?

Keep in mind OSF, I would not have done this if he wasn't one of those queer types. You can't find Jesus if you're cornholing guys. He was standing real close behind me in line and we were the only people waiting. When I was growing up that kind of peircing meant one thing.

Your just digging yourself a deeper hole with your generalizations.

Tell that to Andy Hug or Bas Rutten.

Big difference, Bas has strong take down skills and is a REAL fighter. Not some guy who just got his black belt by showing up class after class like you.
