The pic is a few weeks old. I got into that condition while eating whatever I wanted on a daily basis. I went to burger king at least once a week while on my diet. And I didn't do any cardio.
Right now I'm maintaining and sitting a few kilos above that, because I'm injured and can't train hard. Don't want to lose the little muscle I have. ;D

Weight is a relative issue. Example. I weighed 165 lbs when i graduated from HS in 1994. Now at 32 Im 245ish. Yes some of it is fat but MOST of it is not......

It was 2000cals for me too (daily avarage over the week), my maintenance is about 2500 cals. If you have an easier time eating 3 times a day, that's fine of course. I have an easier time if I can stuff myself once a day with whatever I want. Additionally, I sipp on a whey shake during the day to ensure enough protein intake.

Not my experience. I might feel "stuffed" on brocoli and boiled fish, but that's like being stuffed with water, not really satisfying. When I was on a diet with 5 or 6 meals, I was constantly hungry. Plus it's saves time to only eat once and you can go out for lunch with your friends or coworkers like a normal human being. :)

I eat fairly clean. I should have prefaced that i'm naturally lean
5-6 meals a day
each meal 35-50gs of protein
3 of those meals are shakes
with each meal I have a table spoon of olive oil
I don't have complex carbs (mostly cuz i hate cooking potatoes or rice)but I eat ALOT of vegetables.
Vegetables don't really count towards your calories because they are easily burned/eliminated
the real secret is using the Tabata protocol for all of my cardio

fuck it, way too much pain
people say it's only 4 minutes, I dare them to try it, they'll fall on their face after set 3

it is hard but it works
the way to do it is to not start doing full tabata. Start with 3-4 rounds and add another round every 1-2 weeks
the only way it will cut muscle (imho) is if you overtrain it or are undernourished

You will find that there is a difference between good cardiovascular shape and good sprinting shape. If you keep getting after it though, it will become much easier to do.

I used to be a sprinter but after highschool just dropped it, then got into the low intensity bodybuilding type cardio
which for me is useless, I have done hundreds of hours of moderate intensity cardio on the elliptical
all it has done is eat all my muscle away, hence why right now I have stopped doing any cardio
I might start sprinting again though

4 times a week first thing in the morning before breakfast, i do tabata sprints
then i do tabata burpees or chirpees or push up chirpees or deluxe chirpees after my weight workouts
now you will understand why it boggles my mind why people do low intensity cardio, twice a day for a hour to get shredded for a show

then i do tabata burpees or chirpees or push up chirpees or deluxe chirpees after my weight workouts
now you will understand why it boggles my mind why people do low intensity cardio, twice a day for a hour to get shredded for a show
maybe because HIT is TOO painful lol
plus, a 300 pound guy sprinting.......not gonna happen :-\

I used to be a sprinter but after highschool just dropped it, then got into the low intensity bodybuilding type cardio
which for me is useless, I have done hundreds of hours of moderate intensity cardio on the elliptical
all it has done is eat all my muscle away, hence why right now I have stopped doing any cardio
I might start sprinting again though

So apparently, unknowingly, I've done tabata style lifting and sprinting. I remember about a year ago I put my legs through a shock routine that involved a 8X drop giant set. For two sets. I didn't use the same weight for the drops, only about 20-25% each drop (had to use a lot of quarters and 10s), each drop was to failure, nor did I watch the clock, but the only rest I had was stripping weight off. You have to have some kind of messed up mental approach to do this. I would lose all sanity for these workouts and my vision would be...well...fuzzy to say the least. I've never done an 8x tabata sprint session but I've done a lot of 400-200-200-100-100-100-100 I'M DEAD stuff before. Only rest I do with sprints is about a 50m walk. Bit more than 10 seconds though.
Also, for those that remember Trevor Smith...Beyond Failure Training (aka Demon Training) was the first type of training I was introduced to when I was 17. Jesus H. Christ that was some of the hardest training I've ever done. I didn't know it then, but it was really only for genetic freaks of nature and AAS users. My body would shut down on me afterward no matter how much I was eating and I would sleep so damned hard. I remember getting strong as hell from it though. I would gladly do it again if I had a training partner I could trust my life with.
Yeah, not Tabata to a "T" but similar. I do believe doing 4 minutes of 95lb front squats would make me puke.

I don't know about fastest way to a six pack, but I do know my personal best look was 2006 when I had been doing a half mile sprint after every other workout for 6 months. I weighed around 184lbs and looked pretty damned amazing. For reference in my GB3 photos I'm 173lbs and my condition was better at 184lbs.

Well, 85-90% of full blown sprint speed for half a mile. I personally can only sustain a full sprint for 400m. I did the 400m in high school with a personal best of 54s. Our mile relay team would have gone to state if I hadn't gotten shin splints. :(

Jogged a mile to get loose. Did the first 20 second dash and figured, "ok, this is do-able".
One mile later and 8 sprints I want to die. Just fall over and not wake up. Not like I could see anyways...
Feel damned good right now. Abs hurt like hell and so do my hams/glutes.
edit: Son of a bitch. I just took off my socks and my toes are bleeding.

did you do it on a treadmill or on road/track?
I did it on the road/sidewalk. I may have had more than 10 seconds rest at time but never more than 15. I think anyone who has halfway decent running ability should do this every now and then. It is brutal...christ it is brutal. I don't know if I could do it every other day like the .5 mile sprints I was doing. Maybe every third or fourth. If I stay in the area I'm currently at I am definitely going to start making this a routine.

doing it on the road/track is WAYYYY better than a treadmill
it is a tough BUT rewarding workout
I can do that workout 4x's a week BUT i built up to that intensity
trust me, keep at it and you will see no other way to do cardio
also, tabata is a theory more than just one type of exercise
if you ever want a challenge/great fat burning exercise, try doing "burpees" tabata style after your weight workout

THATS a burpee? They had me doing that bull crap with our waste-of-time mandatory PT sessions in the USAF. Sorry, but I will never voluntarily do those ever again. They aren't hard, just awkward as hell.

Not to be rude, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They seem to much like a gimmick exercise. I would expect trainers who rely on swiss balls to preach volumes on these. Nothing against, you if it works it works. Just the feeling I get from them.
Then again, I'm more inclined to skip the fluff exercises and get straight to what works best. Screw it...sprints it is.
