Very good. Good amount of fat. And you can be in really good condition.

I think you need some work.
Obvious problem areas: arms(Biceps, Triceps & Forearms),traps, delts, midsection, lower back, lats & calves.
Main issue I see is the lack of a true V-taper.
Also, maybe next time, change the video's music and get rid of the shorts...
It's very early though, with 10 weeks, you can make a better video..

i just find the leg-forward one is more comfortable, and im able
to twist the torso nicer for a good flow down to the waist. Problem is, i lose
the ability to show side hamstrings alot.
ill probably only do this in my posing routine, not mandatories.

I'm not an expert, but one thing on your bicep shots. Try getting your hands back further rotating your elbows forward...does that make sense? It will create a better peak. Maybe someone who knows what I mean can explain it better.

I'm in Toronto, I used to talk to a few guys that compete at that show and now at the larger provincial shows, based on what he's posted, he'll come dead last. Most of these guys are running pro stacks in level 1, 2 shows.. lol

Will be a tough show but it is better to enter tough shows, it will motivate you more plus when you place you feel really good ;)
Just do what most suggested, more on the arms and lower lat, practice posing everyday in the mirror, if you are using gear use the stacks that your body responds to best! good luck

You're about right where you should be, C1986.
My arms always been a weakpoint but over the last year I made them grow to more satisfactory levels by using more volume with a light-moderate weight 10-15 rep range -vs- when I kept it heavy with a moderate-heavy style in the 8-10 range.
I made it a point to use high intensity contractions and to try to feel it deep into the belly of the muscle. Consider that.
My opinion is to up your cardio by 20% and try to keep it first thing in the morning pre-breakfast or Meal-1. I love RxLabs 'MethylRipped' by the way. They also make a killer non-stimulant product for the rest of the day in their 'Methyl Lean'.
'Lean Dreams' by ALRI at bedtime and no straying from your diet may be your recipe for success!

You need more cuts in your upper chest,a better lower lat tie-in (try pullover) and work the fuck out of your hams

my suggestion would be to not do anythign crazy around show time. if you look great 3 days before the show, then no need to do anthing different the last 3 days. sometimes people really screw themselves by doing something radical the last day to lose water, or whatever.
I agree. If it isn't broke then do not fix it. I seen many people come into a show looking amazing because 2-3 days out they looked amazing and they didn't bother carb-loading, sodium/water depleting or anything els. They pretended it was another day and they ended up either qualifying or winning their class.
We don't always have to suscribe to the old adage of you MUST carb-load and drop water and avoid salt etc...

To the OPer........you have a good solid base to work from, keep it up. You definitely need to bring your arms up and your traps, shoulders etc. You have a very blocky wide midsection so it's going to be very hard for you to bring up your V-taper so you're really going to have to focus on both thickness to bring it "out" and growing your lats make your upper back wider as well. Both of these things will make your lower section look smaller. Concentrate on back movements incorporating lots of pulling movements to work those lats.

so now with a near 3 year layoff im very anxious to know where i fall in weight.

when I gain water weight, it's because I had a cheat meal the day before.
i didnt really have a sodium binge....
didnt take in more tuna or anything in a can.
2 different things, is i made my vegetables in a soup (just tomato, broccoli,cauliflower,hot peppers and string beans) but didnt put salt or soya, noothing. theres no sodium there really.
and yesterday evening got a deep tissue massage on my legs...
i really dont know.
usually i gain that too after a cheat, but i didnt do anything THAT drastic.
tonight Leo checks out my poses. we'll see what he says.

Don't "slam" into your poses. That is old school 80's shit. Just ease into them slowly. Right now with your bodyfat levels the slamming stuff makes places jiggle that you don't need to jiggle.
Legs are overwhelming your upper body. You need to drop what... maybe 4-5% more bodyfat? Have you learned how to drop your water yet?
I would work on the upper body with some powerlifting type stuff, deads, benches, close grips for triceps, partial rows, chins... Unless you decide just to get peeled with what you got, I would sit this one out.

that isnt water. be honest with yourself.
my recommendation to you is zero carb here on out. calories at 90-92% of your maintenance intake, protein and greens only.
hopefully whatever your running will help you hold onto your tissue, but you gotta get that fat off.

there were 12 of us, and on the night of the show the top 3 are announced only.
didnt bother to go see the judges afterward to inquire about my placing, its gonna be
published any day now online.
i had a great experience anyways, came in 20 lbs heavier than my last show in 2006, and
got the loudest response of the night on my routine...i walked away happy, regardless of not
making top 3.
besides, youngest in the category, with a frame that belongs in the heavyweights in years to come...
i knew it would be an uphill battle, its all good man!
