I agree.

Surgery has too many risks.

Some injuries take a long time to heal.

I have been told by those who have had it to avoid the surgery if possible.

I am actually more encouraged this week.

Radial shockwave treatment seems to have cut down pain, and sauna is helping too.  Where I tend to make mistakes is feeling good, then pushing it too much - so I just have to be patient.

Ok, officially doing PT, peptides, daily sauna, grounding, and shockwave therapy to avoid surgery.

Gayer than doing PT, peptides, daily sauna, grounding and shockwave therapy to avoid surgery.

What activity is this grounding you speak of?

It is theorized that there are anti-inflammatory benefits from walking barefoot on the ground, or, if you live in the cold, using a grounding mat.

Hippy stuff, but blookwork does seem to change in the before/after.

I spend massive amounts of time barefoot. I don't know if it helps anything but I feel more comfortable.

I believe they have tested ph levels in the blood before and after grounding, and there are real, tangible changes.

4th shockwave session.  I will admit they hurt, and there is soreness for the next two days, but I think there is improvement.

Very expensive though.

I think I'm going to start lifting weights again.

What exactly are they doing with shockwaves?

What exactly are they doing with shockwaves?

Without bothering to look it up - I believe shockwave causes microtrauma, which increases blood flow, and promotes faster healing.  Maybe like dry needling?

I went on the suggestion of my PT guy, and he wasn't trying to sell me, because his place doesn't have a machine.  Had surgeon follow up, and he told me they have a machine, so I think there's something to it.

No, like an ultrasound wand, with attachments.

It pulses, but not like a massage gun - you feel it resonate internally.  If it hits the wrong area, hurts a lot.

Technician tried to describe it beforehand, but she said "there's really no way to describe it until you feel it"....she was right.

Nice.

Did light agility work for the first time with PT.

First two days, sore as fuck, feels like nothing's healed but now it's gone....so maybe.

Past two months have been steady.
My knee is still wonky but I won't get it looked at until the fall.

Get one of those braces from cvs with the aluminum bracing on the sides. I used to use one back in my strongman days when I felt overworked/unsteady in the knee.

Yes, right now it appears avoiding surgery may have been the correct option.

I will know if I can jump off a 36" box no problem.

Next step is light run / actual squats.

Then plyo.

I am hoping a month away from normal, but it could all go to shit as well.

If it works, it was a combo of: radial shockwave, intrinsic strength training, peptides, regular sauna, and increased vit c........or may none of that and just time....who knows?
