I don't think that the phrase " brought us to this time of domestic terrorism" means he suggesting direct cause and effect.

I certainly don't think Palin caused this with her stupid and constant gun imagery just like I don't think Olberman caused this with his comments.   I do think that violent rhetoric by people in the media (pundit's, politicians, etc..) is irresponsible and could potentially contribute to violent acts by crazy people but I don't think that's the case with Lougher (though at this point we don't know it's not either)
