Question for the guys with competition experience (Wes, Joswift, Coach et al.. )
Whats better for building muscle while staying relatively lean?
Low carb or low fat.
I love low carb but always look stringy and struggle to put on muscle.
Old school guys were all steak, eggs, cottage cheese and heavy cream.
80s guys were all chicken breast and rice. Or tuna fish and yams.
If one were looking to get into peak condition, hypothetically for a show, which is the better way to go?
Thanks in advance for your expertise.
best condition I got in was 96, for that I was eating a high carb breakfast and then tuna potatoes and chicken breasts
If you go low carb yes you can get flat because of the drop in glycogen but that stops once you start using fats for energy
Also keep the sodium up , that well help with pumps and fullness.
Although I will say sometimes the harder you try the worse you look.
Just look how many guys look better two weeks out than they do show day, also a couple days later.
