So does being bulkier than others hinder your speed? A lot of swimmers seem to be very slim while they are competing and once they stop competition they blow up....particularly the gals.

Yes, in those pics so far no gh, however I feel I have completely maxed out, My last competition weight was around 205. So now I want to come in at the top of the heavies, at 219 (cut off is 220) So now I am doing gh, we will see where that takes me.

wrt swimmers ballooning up in weight, I actually know a few people that used to compete but they haven't become overweight. Maybe added a few pounds since they burn a shit load of calories while in the sport...I think Michael Phelps was claimed to be eating over 10k cals a day.

Obviously when one is a competitive swimmer they are burning a shit load of calories. I believe that was my point. Some not so famous former competitive swimmers become public pool lifeguards. Sitting on a high seat watching the kiddies paddle around the pool doesn't burn too many calories. If said former competitive swimmer is still eating like they did when they were competing, they are destined to become fat.
