LOL, to maintain that level of bodyfat and abs would require full time diet and I enjoy a good meal too much hahaha.
To look like I did in the red trunks (Zane pose), required a very rigid diet and tunnel vision for 3-4 mos.
BUT, thanks for the positive words and I think the solution is to compete once a yr ( again).
By Nov , by achilles will be fully recovered and I can train 100% again.
If I ease into it right , I can maintain a decent, 16 week contest prep schedule and not quit.
They key for me is to look at it as a part time, once a year thing, NOT full time.
I would like to compete again next June , do a couple regional shows and call it a day for another year.

There's a season for everything and your season for competing is past - get on to the next thing.

It doesn't have to be. You do realize that many champs have held jobs outside bodybuilding and won the big shows.

of course, like ronnie coleman, and.....??

LOL thanks for pointing out the obvious.
No shit, at 53 my best years in bodybuilding are long past.
My only contest goal now is about useing the contest date and atmosphere to help motivate me to diet.

Being "happy" like these guys make it is just a justification for their other failures and short comings in life... You buy into it when people say that?? GTFO

Bet you Jose is NOT happy, guy is most likely in denial of himself and definitely has some screws loose in his head (thats the majority of bbers for ya)
400k is serious money if u ask me.i dont know what is ur ideal figure to feel happy.

being a cop is not a real job

How you figure?

San Diego cops make $72000 after 3-4 years on the beat.  And rest assured San Diego isn't as hostile as Los Angeles.  On top of that they make their side hustles, so that puts them around $100k.

Ronnie didn't make as much in Arlington, but his fucking 120K 4bd room house, vette and pickup truck were attainable on $45K down there.

Oh, they have good benefits.

What are u talking about? Nobody said 400k is not a lot, we're talking about housing and Jose DOESN'T have 400k. That kind of cash for housing in California or the east coast isn't that much

If u were living elsewhere 400k would get u a mansion

cops are well paid

but their "work" doesnt contribute to the economy or even safety

yeah, our cities would be a lot safer with  no cops and our gyms would be better with no weights to lift. ;)
I try to be nice, but your post above is just plain dumb and /or silly.

without steroids he d be 160 lbs top. Steroids make you feel euphoric and distant from reality. Until you crash.

LOL, I weighed 175 lbs at 5'9" when I was 17 running track in high school.  ::)
Just how "special ed " are some of you guys when it comes to building muscle mass? seriously.

I hate to go negative but I just gotta get this off my chest.
Do you really belive it is impossible to compete at 195 lbs in contest shape without drugs? Really.
Do your genetics sucks THAT bad that it makes you think anything over 170lbs lean is "all drugs".
I'm not that good a bodybuilder and you folks act like I had some freakish mass that REQUIRED drugs?
Once again, it really does amaze me that some of you think I just had to use drugs to look like  I did > really?
Oh well, thanks I guess and it really isn't that big a deal to build the size I did.

The best juiced up pros are all 40, 50 or more lbs bigger and alot more impressive then I ever was.

i bet Jose cries himself to sleep every night on the carpet floor

No fear, many of us have done that, Platz as an example.

Ditto many of us even live at the gym, it's a lifestyle thing ;-0

i am not saying that i dont want to live in large expensive house in Beverly hill if i could i would or may be i am living large enough for most of people but i will not beat myself to death if i am living in 2 bed apartment while other people living luxury life style.having lots of money does not hurt but i dont think its necessary to have happy and fulfilling life.
very few people have balls to chase their dream specially in sports.u have heard tiger wood making millions but have you ever heard about the guys who lost in the way.
pro bodybuilders are making decent living while doing what they love to do.
