Not at all, most Europeans are like sf progressives, literally terrified of an inanimate object. Just holding a gun makes them nervous. Its Pavlovian conditioning and quite intentional.

It's the same rationale Democratic socialist regimes have used with eroding national pride, people in the uk have been conditioned to equate pride in ones home country with racism, and equate guns with danger , crime, "stupid" Americans .... legal shotgun ownership is mocked by being associated with the "posh" upper class. I have you are not serious.  The guns were voluntarily handed over and compensated for, you didnt have to hand your guns over, but your possession of them was then illegal.  Just like when they ended slavery,you didn't have to stop owning slaves, but by doing so you were now breaking the law.  And nearly 20 years later after being disarmed we are still waiting for the genocidal regime to kick in and tyrannise everyone.  That's what happens isn't it, Governments take citizens guns and then introduce genocidal policies and tyrannise the public? Oh Brother.

If someone was robbing me at gunpoint, I'd be more terrified of some armed but well-meaning bystander  missing the robber and hitting me... an armed but ill-trained populace would be worse than the biggest friend wave.
