I promised my grandson I'd take him to the gym for a workout tomorrow if he was all caught up on his studies. Looks like I am willing to try anything that gets me back in the swing of hitting the gym.

I brought my wife home today for a couple of hours time she had between her doctor appointment and dialysis. She even had lunch with me while she was there. We are both hoping I can spring her from convalescent care by this next weekend.

Sounds awesome Prime..my Grandson will be 13 this year....soon!

We have two grandsons. This one is sixteen years old. He's been working out for about a year. He's always been really active in sports, playing basketball and soccer mostly. This year he's doing online school, so he's at school on his laptop in our living room right now. He has some catching up to do because he spent most to last week at his paternal grandparents house and says he couldn't get online on their wireless. I suspect they didn't enforce him doing his studies and he procrastinates. Our daughter and his dad will be here probably sometime Wednesday and if he is behind, there will be hell to pay, or as our daughter put it, "There will be repercussions!"

I let him drive me to the store last night. He did pretty well and so did I. I managed not to be an annoying copilot.

2/4/2014

30 minutes of cardio on the recumbent bicycle

30 minute circuit training on Nautilus machines

Full body work out

1 set of 12 reps on 12 machines (approximately two movements per muscle group)

I kept the weight at baby weight, 60 to 80 lbs. on most exercises with the exception of leg presses and calf raises on which I used 220 lbs. I could have done more but I wanted to play it safe, this being my first foray into the gym in a long time aside from what I was doing for physical therapy for my knee those 10 weeks. While I am not the least bit sore, my body feels like it had some exercise and it feels good.

My grandson ran on the treadmill and then joined me on the neighboring recumbent bicycle for awhile. He watched television while I did Nautilus. I offered to spot him if he wanted to use free weights, but he didn't seem interested. I'm not going to push him. He wants to go again tomorrow. His parents will be here then, so that will be up to them to decide. He's shooting hoops with his friends right now.

I am soon off to pick up my wife from dialysis and take her back to the convalescent home. With all the driving, I have been filling the gas tank twice a week these past few weeks. The hospital bills have started rolling in. So far they total $75,000 and this doesn't include the last week and a half that Margie has been in the convalescent home. This is not what we will have to pay. Our copay has yet to be determined. Thank goodness for good health insurance.

Best laid plans.... I'd planned to go to the gym today but that didn't happen because at 12:30 p.m. the snow started falling and it has yet to let up. The street in front of our house is closed. I don't have 4 wheel drive or snow tires. This afternoon I watched a car slide into another car right in front of our house. Portlanders are cool with driving in the rain, not so much snow.

Our daughter and her husband were on the last leg of their trip home when the snow hit them south of Salem. It took them 3 hours to drive 20 miles in blizzard conditions. They finally arrived early this evening. Their SUV is a 4 wheel drive and they have chains on so they made it down the hill to the house and up our driveway okay.

I need to figure out what I am doing about getting my wife to dialysis tomorrow. I may have to hire medical transport to get her to the hospital. Also, she might be able to come home this weekend so let's hope the snow doesn't hang around too long.

I am going to get another gym day in this week if it kills me. It felt so good to workout, I can't wait to do it again.

Great idea except with our daughter and her family moving back in, there is literally no place to set it up. Maybe it is just some frustration showing since the house went from being a quiet sanctuary to utter chaos last night when they finally arrived. Now there are our two dogs and their two dogs running around with lots of attitude. I haven't seen the Uhaul trailer they pulled to bring "just a few things" they thought they'd need until they get settled because it is parked up at the top of the hill. It must be pretty big though because they've made multiple trips unloading the contents into their SUV and into the house and garage. When I went out to the garage an hour ago, it was all but impassable. Sorry for unloading, I am one who doesn't do well with disruption I guess.

Although it is snowing to beat the band today as well, this won't last long. By Sunday, the rain will come and wash the snow away so I can go to the gym and escape the chaos around here.

It is a wintery day. Here are a couple of views out our front windows. Can you find the street? Someone's car parked off in the distance has been stuck there since yesterday.

Looking like Prime Beef Steve...NO HOMO ;D today i am going Swimming and then going for a meal with my Family. I just took one look at Jay´s pics and decided to go Swimming...lol. The snow here is almost all gone. yesterday it was very windy but not really too cold. Keep Pumpin Mature Trainers. Steve we are doing OK for our Age believe me, i trained a Young guy yesterday who was 24. He has to pass Fitness tests to be a Fire Fighter here. I thought it was a joke at first because the Guy is over 100 KG and fat. he has to do at least 3 chins and has a month to do it. I asked him if he can use any grip and so he will do supinated Palms towards him. I will beast his bubble arse round the Gym :D ;D So Jay and all you guys are still in great shape...believe me ;)
