Must have been hard sleeping sitting up. although after a few nights you would be very tired and could sleep i bet.. wish i could send some snow over.. ;) although i just walked last night around 5pm our time it was very fresh and windy and i liked it, i slept like a babe last night. Even in winter i wear a t-shirt under my jacket as too many layers make me too hot. I always wear short sleeves. I like cooler climates and always sleep with a slightly open window, i always sleep naked too.. ;) ;D( not Bodybuilding related ..LOL) some Women in the past have remarked on this and i run around at home always in shorts and Barefoot. I feel for you in such heat in Australia and it really must be uncomfortable. Still from the last picture you sent it looks OK. You have a nice complexion and smooth skin. Well today i will go back to my 3 Day split and will try a superset workout i wrote in Wooo´s thread. Nice fast pace. Chest+Back always a winner... ;)
Do you mean the pic of the ocean/whitsundays which I posted in some thread a while back?  It's paradise here in winter as the days are warm and sunny still and I lay in the sun and tan.  Summer feels really long though and air con is a blessing.
I didn't sleep well sitting up, the max sleep I got was 4-5 hours per night and a sore neck/trap.  I felt really exhausted from this op and not getting enough sleep for weeks took it out of me.  I can honestly say that I didn't start sleeping properly until I lay down on one pillow at night.  I love sleeping with a window open too and feeling fresh cool air.  At the moment though I am sleeping with my air con on.  If I was where there was snow...I would bury my face into it and unswell this nose.   :P
Where's the superset workout Donny?

Be sure to not leave the frozen peas on too long. Best to only leave it on for 20 minutes max per hour.. People have gotten frost bite from leaving cold packs on too long. Also be sure to protect your skin by putting something between the cold pack and your nose like a dry wash cloth or  some paper towels.

I watched dexter with a bag of peas wrapped around my nose.  It did actually take some swelling down.  My nose feels a little better and I can press my nostrils together now.  I am actually going to do this now everytime I feel too much swelling and especially after training.  Thank you for the advice PM, it was really helpful.   :)

less volume than my normal workout but i will work a bit faster with supersets. I have used this before and it does not take long to do and is harder than it looks(if the effort is put in). Any criticism wellcome.. ;)

Being as young as you are, you shouldn't think about your age.

I just spent the entire day putting up interior Christmas decorations for a holiday potluck we are hosting tomorrow. The only think I have left is to put some leaves in the dining room table, put the tablecloth on and arrange a centerpiece of candle holders and candles. The frustration in hosting these events is that people today are very lax about RSVP so we really have no idea how many people to expect. Last year there was about 30 folks, if my memory serves me well. Luckily the entertaining spaces in our home are generous so I think we can handle up to about 60 or 70 people without it seeming like wall-to-wall bodies. This is all adults (senior citizens like me actually) so it isn't like there will be a bunch of little tykes running amuck.

Back, rear delts and biceps

I increased both weight and sets this workout.  My nose felt some pressure during training but it wasn't something I couldn't handle.  On a really positive note, I am loving all the air that is able to get into my nose and down into my lungs.  Just an amazing feeling after having months and months of breathing difficulties.

One arm db rowes x 6 sets
Lat pulldowns to the rear supersetted with lat pulldowns to the front x 6 sets
Diversional lat pulldowns 10 reps on right side, 10 reps on left side, 10 reps both arms  x 2 sets
Rear delt flye machine x 4 sets  (wanted to do bent over db flyes, but chose machine instead due to the fact that I was upright, taking nose swelling into consideration)
db bicep curls x 4 sets

Very interesting Karen, i take it you mean by Diversional pulldowns One arm. I know the word "Diversion" from Military terminology as "a feint attack to draw the enemy away from the main attack" Diversional "to Divert" I have never used this exercise but have seen it used in Physio(using a single arm. Please explain it.

So, being as how we both have breathing issues. Do you hope that the surgery will solve all of your problems?

As I mentioned, I had a deviated septum repaired when I was quite young. Guess what? A deviated septum can come back to haunt you. As it turns out, I have  allergies which "clog my breathing" passages. In addition to having surgery, I was injected with whatever to counter allergies for a number of years. I even took and oral medication, Singulair to help me work through all the complications of my allergies which resulted in my getting pneumonia more times then I care to remember. I should have suffocated considering that I had pneumonia the first time when I was still an infant.

Here is my thinking on this, we get what we get. We can succumb to this and spend our lives compromised by our genetics or we can say "fuck it" and see better and healthier life for ourselves.

It already has solved them all.  Since the surgery I have had no infections and no asthma.  My health has been perfect and the air I am getting through to my lungs feels amazing.  My sinus was blocked due to the fact that my septum wasn't straight and therefore air and what not was unable to flow properly.  By cleaning me completely out and straightening my nose (rhinoplasty), it has solved my health issues and is unlikely to ever return as my nose is straight now.
I might add that I only began having health issues 16 months ago.  Prior to this, my nose had never bothered me and I rarely got sinus or infections.  I think it was just something that had built up over my lifetime.  Plus the fact that I had a bad cold last year and alot of mucus, so this was unable to drain and resulted in the blockage.

yesterday evening inbetween i did multiple sets of bicep and tricep work. I worked my arms with shoulders and later i just kept doing one arm tricep extensions behind my neck and Dumbbell curls. I used a weight that i could keep using. my arms are sore today...sometimes it´s good to just rep out and forget about reps and sets... ;)

That reminds me of when I first began training and I would rep out on calves all day.  I would be doing calf raises on the stairs at home.

After my last back workout 2 days ago, I haven't trained due to the swelling and discomfort accross the bridge of my nose.  Am feeling a bit down today because of it.

After my last back workout 2 days ago, I haven't trained due to the swelling and discomfort accross the bridge of my nose.  Am feeling a bit down today because of it.

Are you feeling down because you didn't train or because your nose is swollen and uncomfortable? Are you remembering to put those frozen peas on your nose to reduce the swelling?

I really need to get back to the gym. Every little thing I do lately, makes me ache, especially my legs. I raked leaves, pulled out dead annuals and cut back perennials the other day and had sore hamstrings for two days. Then I decorated the house and trimmed the Christmas tree for a holiday potluck we hosted yesterday, climbing up and down a ladder all day Tuesday. Now my calves, quads and feet were really sore. I can only guess that this is because I have taken such a long holiday from hitting the weights. The other option is that I am just becoming a old man (which is true, but this is not how I imagined it). I don't mind looking old, but I want to still feel like I did as a young guy.  :'(
