Crime is really on the increase here.  The truth is I would walk around NYC at night before I would walk around the streets in my home town simply because there are more police over there and also because there are more people everywhere.  Here it's dark and half the street lights don't work.
She's gone to sleep with a swollen lip and face.  Bruising is already very noticeable.  I will take her down to the police station to make the statement.  Thank you DP.  You are welcome to post regularly in the mature thread.  We are a tight bunch and you are a good sort.  You would fit in.

That's what happen when the streets are poorly lit. People feel unsafe at night, so the streets are almost empty and there's less social control. When it comes to safety, lightning is one of the basics.

+99% of my posts are on the G&O section, so I saw this +80-page thread by coincidence. Thirst I thought about something else, when I was reading the word 'mature' (call me immature in that sense ;D).

Anyway, I hope both of you feel a little better at this moment  :)

There would be uncivilized people no matter where you went.

Perhaps I live in Shangri La, there are no bikers in West Linn that I've noticed. As for uncivilized people, I really can't speak to that since I don't know everyone in town personally enough to know whether they are or aren't civilized. I will say that there is a fair measure of Mercedes, BMW, Lexus and "Subarude" drivers who are real assholes on the roads and in the parking lots around here.

Our streets are pretty well lit. Being suburbia, there isn't an actual downtown, just elaborate strip malls. There isn't much for young folks to do at night. If you are of drinking age there are a lot of restaurants which serve alcohol and that's about it. I suspect young folks who are old enough to drive, head to downtown Portland for some fun. Unfortunately, some bad stuff does sometimes happen in downtown Portland, especially at night. We have a pretty active local police department with not a lot to do. One day a police officer followed me into my driveway just to let me know one of my tail lights was out. Pretty boring stuff.

Jay I can't eat shelf products....things with preservatives.  If it was homemade mayonaise I would be fine with it.  It's the same with salad dressings etc.  I can't eat a salad dressing bought off the shelf.  I am allergic to masterfood products as well, even their tomato sauce.

This is very interesting. The upside is that you end up eating much healthier since the foods are not adulterated with preservatives. The downside is that it is more work to fix something when you don't have the choice of convenience foods.

Margie is fixing stir fry vegetables with rice for dinner tonight. Most of the vegetables are fresh with the exception of the bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and baby corn. They are canned. Our daughter requested no meat for dinner. One meal without meat probably won't kill us, or at least I hope not.

When I updated today's delt workout, I neglected to change the front shoulder presses to the Hammer strength ISO type machine. I don't want you believing I did 140 lbs. on the Smith, because these are harder for me to do and I use a little less resistance when I do shoulder presses on the Smith.

I don't feel like I am very strong though compared to a lot of other guys in the gym. I probably do my exercises slower and stricter than most though.

Still not feeling too good with the allergy in my body.  Yesterday my mouth was swollen, I was very wheezy and I have had some hives come up.  Even my eyes are swollen.  I probably should have got something from the chemist for it but I am on a ban for putting anything into my body since I had that stint of 16 months with antibiotics.

Friday - pecs:

weight today was 207 lbs. If I don't lose weight to get cut, I will just have to build more muscle to accomplish similar results. This is okay with me as long as the fat covering what must be abs, somewhere hidden in there, goes away.

ISO flat bench press, 5X12-5 @ 80 to 150 added weight
ISO incline bench press, 4X12-6 @ 80 to 150 added weight
ISO decline wide bench press, 4X12-6 @ 100 to 190 added weight
Nautilus weight assisted dips, 3X10-6 @ 117 to 157
Nautilus pec deck, 3X12-8 @ 82 to 121
Nautilus super pullover, 3X12-8 @ 100 to 140
Body Masters seated fly's, 3X12 @ 70 lbs.

I got a nice pump from this workout and for a minute or so my pecs actually looked pretty good. There is hope yet.

I exercised my knee doing leg extensions again. Today I did one set of 12 with using both legs @ 100 lbs then I did 3 sets of 12 on leg at a time @ 40 to 50 lbs. I twisted each leg by doing these "pigeon toed" so to speak. My outer quads are nicely sore tonight. -Could be a problem tomorrow when I work quads and calves, we'll see. The knee pain is minimal right now....excellent! I also did one set of hack squats with no added weight just to test whether it bothered my knee; it did not.

No it's not pollen...it's from the mayonaise I ate two days ago.  I saw my friend out today and she said she can see that my whole mouth is swollen.  I don't feel much better today.

Thanks.  I am going to train tomorrow.  I will probably get asthma but I will see how I go.  That is why I am so careful when I eat out because this is a pain in the ass.  It's so bad for the body.  Anyway I hope you have a good drive to your mums and stay safe on the road.

Drive safe and enjoy your visit with your mom.

I'd go see my mom, well her memorial which is Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR, but the drive sucks and the weather sucks even more since it is still raining. Cannon Beach is about 85 miles from where I live. I'll go in the late summer when it looks like this, http://media.trb.com/media/photo/2012-03/68837349.jpg

I thought you might be interested in seeing this, Karen:

Treating Mayonnaise Allergy Symptoms

•Avoiding mayonnaise in all forms or prepare it at home with the non-allergic ingredients only. You also need to avoid all commercial sauces and dressings that come in a bottle unless you are doubly sure of the contents.
•Antihistamine drugs can easily help you to get rid of the milder symptoms and medicated skin lotions relieve the skin rashes and itching completely.
•Anaphylaxis is a serious life threatening condition that can be lessened only by administering epinephrine shots.

Thanks Donny,

I think I am starting to get somewhere after only a few weeks back working out. Each workout, I try to add a little something, usually by increasing the resistance slightly, the number of reps, or the number of sets. In the case of the pec workout, I added the second group of light resistance flys at the end of the session just too finish things off and end up with a good stretch and some pump. My pecs are not sore this morning. Hopefully, I get a some feeling of fullness tomorrow. It is probably just my imagination, but my T-shirts feel a little different on my body. Sometimes even when I don't see any change, how my clothes feel on me indicates something is different.

I am hoping that my trousers get a little tighter in the leg and butt, while getting looser in the waist. I wear them pretty loose to begin with, so if I am not careful they might become saggers!  ;D At least if I had a little bit if a butt to hold them up that would not happen. Nobody wants to see some old man's ass crack....LOL!

When folks start confusing me with Steve because my quads are so huge, I will have finally arrived.
