Let's play an analytical game
Post what you think is your image of the kind of person who's behind another account in Getbig. And let the other person respond whenever they want to, saying whether it's true or false only.
I know a lot of us think we're clever and I'm sure some of us are 8), but for those who aren't, this thread will at least give them (and everyone) a new found respect of some member(s), when we see how they're pictured in the minds of other people.
Oh, and don't gimme this bullshit about not thinking of this forum while away. While you're here, you do read posts and threads and both consciously and unconsciously form vague to specific opinions that condition you to read and interpret another person's post as good or bad. That's all the degree of familiarity that we need, that makes this game a good one to play.
For example, I'll try and guess some characteristics of Sarcasm aka The Squadfather, who's one of my closest SQUAD member 'friends', from his posts. I'd say Sarcasm is:
White, healthy, mid-30s, strong and very built physique that makes him as proud as an emperor, very mature and sharp, very capable mental prowess and great observation skills, middle - upper middle class in terms of economy, very masculine, alpha male, center of the crowds attention anywhere and anytime, sexist and a slightly weary, amused contempt for mediocrity.
Let's see what you bitches can come up with. I'll post my Adonis' one at the very end cause I want you guys to all have your chance first 8) ;D
Hedge, Ron and other mods - please let this thread stay in the G&O for a couple of days, so I get some decent responses. Thanks guys.

Richard2004 - 15 year old white kid. He is a FBB muscle worshiping schmoe. He's dreamed up that he is like 69 or something. My guess is he had to enter a birthdate on a porn site to get access and has stuck with that age for years. He read's powerlifting USA. Eats not one but two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a Tall glass of milk for gaining mass. And he meltsdown like candle wax.

I'll go ahead and start with the Superstar. - Since it is know that he is a Manager in the Adult Night Club entertainment business. My guess is that he prolly worked his way up like most guys. He prolly started out as a bouncer. Which leads me to believe that he prolly has some "Don't fuck around in here" kind of size.

I enjoy the concept of this game. I agree that it would get interseting to see everyones assessments of members who haven't posted pics.
I used to think Columbusdude was a big mofo as he talked a lot of smack, and I even sided with im when he said he was going to take DA's hairpiece. I was owned when I found out this guy was Muscle worshiping zit faced fat kid who stands at a whopping 5'3". He also claims to be in a damn wheelchair.
This should get interesting.

Teh shadow- low caste indian, 130 lbs, two fruits a week diet. Cleans the computer labs at the University near his village. Sneaks on when class is finished to log on. gayer than pink boxers.
Teh Punisher- 15 year old, 124 lbs, pimpled face dweeb...is all about getting big, but didnt start yet. Best comebacks originate from the pages of his Marvel comics collection.Has experimented with his sexuallity
Rico Suave- Two mexicans, one who knows how to use a computer (somewhat) and his bullying amigo who tells him what to do..both a towering 5-3....trolls on the days they dont get picked up on the corner.

So, DonkeyKong, I THINK you are around 25 - 35, a westerner who's been exposed to a great deal of Eastern culture that's led you think you're broadminded and wiser, which you are. The kind of guy that happily and proudly leads a team of people at work, who all genuinely love working with you. Workout regularly and have decent lifts and knowledge of the iron game. Are a calm guy who doesn't mind gentlemanly conflicts and a twinkling, O Henry-ish sense of humor like the kind that's around Christmas time.
Sweet Jesus that was gay ;D But I'm also interested in seeing if I'm right or not, so tell us what you think, DK :)

I would say Sushant is an upper class indian, he is 19 years old, maybe 20 by now. Has a fairly good education, his english isn't bad. I'd say he doesn't live at home, but stays at his school (shit i forgot the word for that. ;D ). He has no friends though, guys laugh about him and girls too, they think he's ugly and strange.
He has very low self esteem and sits alone most of the time listening to his american music. His greatest dilemma is that he loves american culture, and this is another reason the other kids at his school hate him. This leads him to hate american culture, because his low self esteem doesn't allow him to view the fact that it is his personality that people disgust. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I guess i'm fucking good at manipulating people to do what i want and make them think they do what they want.
It's not that i can make them do things they would absolutely not do, but i can give the kick into the right direction.
I'm not thinking about this in a bad way, and everyone likes working with me.
I work hard, that's what motivates workmates a lot.

I'd be the perfect guy to do it! I've seen a few pics of you, pale as a pikestaff ;D, and read some of your posts, but don't know you in any way since I only hear or see you once every 3 months or so by which time I've already forgotten most of it. But still, I'd say you are:
Natural and proud of it. In his 20s. Far higher than average physique in the neighborhood and in most of your circles. Simple man who is not very fashion or trend conscious. The kinda guy in the team whom you know is 'solid', meaning reliable. Very 'fluffy' on the inside, meaning you won't hurt someone intentionally.
I know that must have sounded creepy or scary or just plain weird, but that's the point of the whole game - I don't mind everyone laughing at me, as long as you guys come up with at least one each. And preferably, not too obvious people like Adonis or Pros whom everyone know.

I disagree.
I'd say white, early thirties, sucessfull at work, knows his stuff very good. I'd say he works as a trainer, has a good build. He has a PC inside his office and posts when he doesn't train people. He is single or short relationships.
He takes a lot of supplements and likes to try new stuff.

asian, 20-25 years old. Lifting for three years, decent build, some steroid cycles. Has some insecurity issues, all concerning his 'size'. ;)
He lives in america, got education about his parents culture, speaks their languag fluently but cannot write but read a bit.
He is proud of his asian decent and feels as an 'asian'american'.
oh and he's obsessed with the squad.

Ethnic and in fact, of Asian descent, English is not first language, but such an insignificant barrier will not stop you from getting what you want. You pride yourself on the fact that your English is improving constantly, cause you can't wait to get into this game and get acknowledged by some of us (SQUAD or otherwise) of your 'owning skills', which will in turn be a symbol of how far you've succeeded in mastering the language you love cause it reaches the minds of those with whom you're in spirit, when it comes to the owning game which is an outlet that you emotionally need. And a nice guy whom you can depend on and who's always smiling and friendly, while not being irritating at all.

Ha ha, a fairly :D good one. My grandmother was Indonesian, 3 quarter is Dutch, though there might be some Spanish left from a far away ancestor. Mastering the English language, upgrading it to a decent level is one of my goals.

I agree that he's upper class and probably at university. Probably flunking out and without close friends, Getbig became his outlet for awhile. Will finish school eventually and will put his English skills and accumulated knowledge of "the west" to good use at work somehow.
Donkey Kong - One of the few nice Germans. ;D Probably a very gentle guy in real life, all about peaceful resolution. You wouldn't want to piss him off. May have a collection of sheiss movies stashed in the attic. j/k ;) Possibly in a relationship - she's not fat. All around optimistic guy.
Goudy - Working class Irish family, lives at home, probably no uni. May have been slightly geeky in younger years and has developed some "loner" tendancies which pushed him away from team sports and toward weights. No lasting relationship since Flossy, and he's probably starting to worry if he'll ever find someone he can love again. Wishes mum would quit pushing him to find a nice girl. Determined as hell to turn lemons into lemonaide, and probably will.
TA - Attended uni but quit because he couldn't stand being a social outcast just like in high school. Angry dude but probably very quiet in real life. Started lifting with an "I'll show you all!" attitude, which he still maintains. Getting older now without a career and is starting to really worry about the future. The "self-loathing Jew" thing reeks of father issues and is probably the real key to his psyche. Owns a handgun, probably a Lugar.

I'm a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and think this is the perfect time and place to say it:
There is this one time when SH amazes Dr Watson with an observation that couldn't have possibly being inferred from the presented facts that makes Dr Watson ask Holmes how he did that, to which Holmes replies, "The difference between me and you is that you see whereas I observe. For instance, do you know how many steps there are from the ground floor?" and when Dr Watson says 'I don't', Holmes says, " Exactly. Whereas I know that there's exactly 27 stairs like I did after the first time I went up them."
And that's what this thread will highlight - the poster's observation skills ;)

I get the sense we're a bit frightened of going too deep for fear of hurting someone's feelings... so I'll start with Shadow.
I agree that he's upper class and probably at university. Probably flunking out and without close friends, Getbig became his outlet for awhile. Will finish school eventually and will put his English skills and accumulated knowledge of "the west" to good use at work somehow.
Donkey Kong - One of the few nice Germans. ;D Probably a very gentle guy in real life, all about peaceful resolution. You wouldn't want to piss him off. May have a collection of sheiss movies stashed in the attic. j/k ;) Possibly in a relationship - she's not fat. All around optimistic guy.
Goudy - Working class Irish family, lives at home, probably no uni. May have been slightly geeky in younger years and has developed some "loner" tendancies which pushed him away from team sports and toward weights. No lasting relationship since Flossy, and he's probably starting to worry if he'll ever find someone he can love again. Wishes mum would quit pushing him to find a nice girl. TA - Attended uni but quit because he couldn't stand being a social outcast just like in high school. Angry dude but probably very quiet in real life. MattC: has an obsession with heights probably to convince to his always dis-believing ego that he is indeed 'not short', which to him equates to or represents failure in life. Pseudo intellectual who uses complex words and psychological words or theories to try show us that he's more intelligent than he really is. Is not dumb or bad in any means, but knows that he would need to work hard to earn everything that some others get due to simply being born with the right genetics. Loves fighting irrationality but I think he also does it cause it makes him look intellectual. Is a great believer in networking, a people person and the his future is in PR, where his talents lie. Has a slight disappointment that he'll never overcome on the inside, that makes him justify his envy of bodybuilders by putting down their accomplishment to drugs.

MoS, I'd say you're the kind of guy who is very imposing physically and manage to scare off angry guys with a look, while also being your wife's absolutely tame and gentle slave, cause you love her more than anything. The guy who is so incredibly brilliant, that he could have chosen to do anything he wanted and settled for one that would least stand in the way of his social life. Great wit - the kind that could arise an army of fans like Robin Williams or Jerry Seinfeld did, if he chose to use it in such a way. kiwiol: laid back in the utmost. almost impossible to piss off because he sees everything as not a big deal, life is too short to get hot-headed about so much. an aussie to the nth degree. the kind of guy who could get those huge family fights at the thanksgiving dinner table turned around so everyone's laughing again. also an extremely loyal friend, the type that most people don't appreciate while they have him and severely miss if they turn their back on him. very intelligent, but tends not to let on because he has no interest in showing off just to pump up his own ego. has the physique and the intellect that would be fairly easy to be arrogant about, and the fact that he doesn't only adds to the respect people have for him.

You're a lot trickier than normal, cause you deliberately try to pass yourself off as Gary Busey, whom you also say is God ;D, but still, I'd say you are:
Quite antisocial and geeky; Thinks he's a very unusual person with an unusual mind, when your just an intelligent guy who wishes to be different cause you realise every loneliness is a pinnacle and it'll be a concrete proof in your eyes that you are brilliant, which is a virtue that you treasure and must absolutely possess; probably around mid-20s, decent physique and very impatient towards people who are stupid; Likes to have exotic tastes and hobbies so you can captivate an audience of 1 or many when you tell them about it when you get the chance. But at the same time, very traditional and sticks to the safe path. You'd rather go down a road that you know is safe, but won't hesitate to take the unknown one if dared or if need be.

There's nothing sentimental about what I've said. All I've done is provide value-judgements of what I think the person behind an account is. One of the things I wish to prove with this thread is that everything that you say and do is a reflection of who you are. Even the guys here who play a character can't help but be themselves most of the time. I've said nothing sentimental - I've merely mentioned my evaluations of complete strangers that I've never met, purely through the things they say in here. Sentiment would involve an extra step in which I reveal how those characteristics of other people that I've perceived invoke what sort of emotion(s) in me.
For example, if I'd said so and so is brilliant and / or very funny, it's a value judgement - judgement cause I think they've exhibited a virtue which is greater than average and value cause I think it's positive and also something that needs to be appreciated impersonally, like when you laugh at a joke without giving a moment's thought about the person who came up with it or who's in it - your fixation is on the joke itself. However, if I'd said 'so and so is brilliant and / or very funny' and THEN say something along the lines of wanting to be their friend or missing them when they don't post, THEN I'd be a sentimental guy, which I'm not in any way. Appreciation can be impartial and impersonal, absolutely!

His problems may have been tied to some psychological problems early in his life (twenties). Part of his reconstruction demanded that debussey get himself a proper education, which he did by putting himself through college. His expericnes in life, though very undesirable at the time, are what made Debussey today... this built Debussey's character, and his appreciation of intelligence, knowledge and hard work. My personal complaint with debussey is that he can be very demeaning at times, perhaps because of the distance that the internet creates between users. Debussey should know better, given his own experiences... he may be slipping here.

This is a great example of the analysis game and very well done! That's what's so cool about the game - one doesn't need a formal psychological qualification to do it. What we're doing here is literally posting what's commonly referred to as 'Gut instinct'. BTW, your assessment of Debussey is very different than mine and I have to say that I won't be surprised if yours turns out to be close to 100% accurate whereas I'm totally off base, since I don't really know Debussey and have seen maybe less than 50 posts of his and most of them were just trivial posts. Let's see what he says.

But that's not what I wish to get out of this thread. It's like using a really expensive camera to do a 5 minute doco on how someone takes a shit. It's a positive thread and I'm just trying to see what the people are like, behind the accounts that I know, recognise and think are good. It's extremely cruel to be honest, which is why I'm not talking shit about some of the people like I could easily do.

yea working class. i live at home still only 20. i was a litle geeky tho only geeky by the standards of the area i am from cos i am educated. i played team sports. football and gaelic football. lol aint changed the flossy thing cos laziness. currently been going with a girl for over 3 months. goin to england with her on friday. currently in final year in uni studying straight law at one of the UK's top law schools. ma doesnt bother in my relationships.

VERY sweet and absolutely adorable. Simply beautiful on both the inside and outside. Will steal any guy's heart in 5 minutes if she chooses to. Very religious, proud of it and in her case, it's a big plus cause it's her way of trying to be good in every possible meaning of the word. In spite of all the advantages life has offered her, she still works hard and tries to be a perfectionist. Loves animals and has probably been adored and spoiled most of her life, which is hardly surprising, although she seldom takes real advantage of it like she could. Is quite aware of a lot of ugliness that's present in society and in people in general, but chooses to focus on the nice and pleasant things in life instead, which is right cause things like misery and suffering should never touch people like STella. Can be passive aggressive at times ;D but we'll forgive her for that, since she never uses it to do something bad. Knows she can manipulate guys, but chooses not to take advantage of it in any significant way.
Overall, the kind of girl every (straight ;D) guy wants to take home and take care of. 200% (trophy) wifey material 8)

I'm gonna eventually try and guess all the people I 'talk' to regularly, but I'd like to try Hedgehog now:
In his late 20s, if not early 30s. European, obviously, but very well-informed of foreign cultures, esp. a lot of things American. Is very interested in bodybuilding, strongman and porn, although he's more of an audience member than a participant. Quite intelligent and very fixed with his views. Doesn't like change and if it does happen, accepts it grudgingly and won't be happy. Has been burned by a girl sometime in his life in someway. Has a slight hatred for females, but also likes and treats them mainly as objects of sexual gratification, although there must be at least one version of female that Hedge thinks is worthy of respect. Doesn't like fake people, is very shrewd and observant and while he won't start a fight that he knows will hurt him due to the odds, will have tons of fun provoking pissed off parties who're participating in a fight that he won't be part of. Works hard and has a decent physique. Has a sense of humor, but it helps him appreciate other's jokes more than it does in helping him with coming up with some on his own.
Overall, a good guy who's a bit dorky and perhaps a little awkward socially.

I'd say Debussey is in his late thirties, and has gone through some tough times in his life. Self-made in that he has overcome some major obstacles(fears) without much external help. His problems may have been tied to some psychological problems early in his life (twenties). Part of his reconstruction demanded that debussey get himself a proper education, which he did by putting himself through college. His expericnes in life, though very undesirable at the time, are what made Debussey today... this built Debussey's character, and his appreciation of intelligence, knowledge and hard work. My personal complaint with debussey is that he can be very demeaning at times, perhaps because of the distance that the internet creates between users. Debussey should know better, given his own experiences... he may be slipping here.

It often tells more about the "analyzers" than the "subjects", since everybody that does the analyzing draws upon their own character and experiences to form a picture of the other person. Hard working, gentle and very generous person. Good natured and full of common sense. You pride yourself on your accomplishments and are a bit of a humanitarian. And I'm sure I've heard you're very religious, which I thought you'd be. Doesn't approve of bullshit in any way or form, but won't mind a good argument. Like some of the guys mentioned before, won't start a big fight, but won't hesitate to take part in one, esp. if it's a debate. Very positive outlook and optimistic.

You make some very good points:
I love fightning irrationality and it does make me look intellectual and I won't complain about that, but even if it didn't I would still love fightning it.
I am a huge believer of networking - HUGE.
Believe it or not, I speak using big words in person too. :) I admit I like to come across intelligently, but if you check my academic record, you will see that I am no dummy. :) My living room is filled with academic awards and degrees I earned over the years. I could probably stand to dumb down my language every now and then though - there is no reason to use big words when they aren't needed.
I also agree that I have to work harder than some people born with the right genetics - but I won't say my genetics are bad, I just don't think they are great, and as a result I can't slack off and achieve the same goals as some.
I do agree that I am always trying to prove to the world my capabilities though - but I honestly believe I have found inner peace and self acceptance and that even without the approval of others, I will be happy.
Some disagreements:
I never thought for a second about my height until age 23 when for the first time in my life, I had been rejected for a girl based on my height. She was 1 CM taller than me (I am 5'9, give or take depending on the time of day). Never in my life had I thought anything about height until that day. They say the people with short man syndrome are not short men, but men who were short growing up. For example, if you were always above average in height growing up, but stop growing at 5'6, you will likely exhibit less short man syndrome than someone who was 5'0 up until age 15 but then jumped up to 6'0 when he was done growing. The reason for that is basically that kids are cruel. 5'9-5'10 is the average height for an adult male and I was always average height my entire life.
In short, I really don't care about...being short. ;D And in all honesty, I don't think 5'9 is that short anyway. Granted, I always wanted to be my dad's height of 5'10, but if I was 5'10, I would want to be 5'11, or 6'0, etc. Love the skin you're in. :) Also, keep in mind there is a certain degree of dominance in a bodybuilder being 5'10 and 1/2 at 250 pounds as opposed to 5'5 and 225 pounds. Height in bodybuilding equates to stature which plays a big role, hence my non stop talking about the height of bodybuilders! I think no Mr. Olympia will ever be outside of the 5'8-5'11 range, and both extremes on that spectrum are pushing it a little.
I am not envious of pro bodybuilders in general. Bodybuilders who I would love to look like: Bob Paris, Dennis Newman, Chris Cook, Milos Sarcev, Frank McGrath, and Frank Zane. This has less to do with their muscularity and more to do with the fact that they are handsome and put together well. If I suspect a bodybuilder gets a lot of babes, chances are that I want to look like them. ;D To me, bodybuilding is about the complete package and not just muscle. I hope I don't come across as a hater - I never intended to.

All that said, let me give you a tip - don't ever justify how intelligent you are by the awards hanging on your walls or by the number of books you've read or have. I never said you have a hatred for bodybuilders, but I do sense a milder version of the 'sour grapes' feeling True Adonis shows towards Bodybuilders. You have dismissed a lot of them as 'all drugs', which has many, many exceptions.

Don't get me wrong, much of what you said is bang on. Also, there is IQ and EQ. A person can be very intellectual or intelligent but not be intelligent in practical ways which to me sort of renders their intelligence useless. Regarding the awards, for years I had them stashed away in my closet until my mother said I should hang them on the walls which I did in the Fall. She said I should do so for a sense of pride and she was totally right about that. I think seeing them brings out the best in me.

Let's look at gtbro1:
Simple man who's made mistakes in the past and has learned to live with them. Has a lot of regrets, but is cheerful enough to shrug them aside and focus on the task at hand. Has witnessed a lot of injustices and ugliness in society and in the human soul. Doesn't think that the world is a bed of roses - not by a mile. Very respectable and has a lot of dignity. Has developed a sense of humor that he never had when he was very young - it's very mature and is only possible of someone who's been through what he's been through. Optimistic and driven enough to try better himself all the time in some way at an age when most people have long ago given up. Very kind and loves animals. Has developed a contempt for suffering - he accepts the fact that suffering will always be present in the world in some way. Probably has some great stories from the past that he can and will pass on to his kids. Is early to mid 40s, I think.
Overall, a really good, genuine, warm guy who'd make a solid friend and companion, who never pretends to be something that he isn't nor envies those who're better off than he is in whatever form or attribute.

You've got a point. When I said 'socially awkward', I meant like in the beginning, when you come across a bunch of people you haven't before. That's why I later said that once you get to know someone and are comfortable, you'll loosen up and be lively. I get the feeling you're slightly introverted in the beginning, but more than make up for it later.

You are all wrong about the worry part. Debussey knows that positive thoughts and a positive outlook tends to attract a positive reality. This might seem metaphysical in a way, and it sure is. At the same time, Debussey analyzed it's life in detail some time ago and found a distinct correlation between quantity and quality of positive thoughts, and life quality + success. Thus, worrying is not only a waste of time, it also brings more crap. (for more, read up on "the law of attraction", written about from the days of Napoleon Hill/Waldo Emerson).
As long as Debussey does its job correctly, the state of politics will not make a huge difference.

Specifically, I'll tell you this much - I don't think I'd have the stomach to study something like Sociology. I am a student of philosophy but am so in spirit, rather than in fact. I studied molecular biology and engineering - 2 disciplines in which there's nothing but facts, figures and logic. I won't be making my career in either of those 2 fields :-\ - I'm not saying this to blow my own horn and I know it sounds very silly, but I'd have made a great scientist! Maybe I will one day. It's a complicated story ;)

As far as your studies are concerned... These things happen... I thought I was going to become a musician, and realized after a year and 1/2 at a conservatory that a few things are not right with that world (at least where I was).
1. Music majors are poor... very poor... poor like a pro bodybuilder poor. (Not the being poor is "Bad", but I don't think I would have liked it much.
and
2. You really do have to suck someones dick (figuratively) to get somewhere in music, no matter what it is... My end of Semester Jurys were excellent, better than some of the best musicians on campus (as they came up and said "You kicked my ass", but alas, I got Cs... I just wasn't playing ball I guess.
So, a couple of major changes later, and a degree in Computer Science... I don't know why I went with the mathematics degree... I hardly use any of it now, but I can always say that I have one.

Together they have become the typical "Us Against the World" sort of couple. It's not that suprising if you think about it. It's basic psychology that most people over 15 or 16 know - people love hearing about themselves esp. if it's very complimentary and flattering. Of course, that doesn't mean that I was trying to flatter them so they accept it eagerly and return the favor. That's why I chose to do only select people, whose Getbig accounts I find reasonably interesting / good (like Mr I or DK) to very interesting (Squadfather, MoS etc).
The whole forum 'conversation' is very unique, unprecedented and unrepeatable elsewhere. A lot of us 'know' each other very well, but we're also total strangers at the same time. A couple of the people I'm most 'close' or 'friendly' with are those whose names I don't even know. We can participate in a conversation and what we say will be there to be seen and heard for as long as the thread remains. It's like the real life equivalent of walking into a party that started long ago yet knowing everything that has been said by everyone! Only possible with forums.
That's why this 'game' or 'exercise' or whatever hasn't received the usual Getbig treatment (a couple of retards did chime in, but that's unavoidable) - people realise that it's fresh and new and something quite different than the 'usual innovations'. And to those who think that this is like girls in high school playing a similar game, I say, 'so what'? Girls in high school do dumbell curls in the gym and eat burgers and so do guys like Earl and JPM, but does that make them high school girls as well? The worth of an activity can't be gauged by the calibre of the participants alone.

I read more than I post but that's due to work more than anything else. But that's also why I don't subscribe to the "5000+ posters are social cripples living in basements" theory. There's too many external circumstances to account for why/how much time one spends on the board. If anything I'd say most of the guys here that are on the upper end of the post counts are the same ones who actually do have a social life in the real world, TA and SF included.
