The state has admitted it can't contradict Zimmerman's side of the story...I don't see how they're going to get a conviction under those circumstances. Do I think Zimmerman's responsible for the young man's death? Yes...he had no business going on "patrol" with a gun, no business exiting the vehicle and the basis for his suspicions about Martin's actions appear to be based on his race and style of dress. From a philosphical and moral POV there's no doubt in my mind that he's culpable. However...this is a criminal proceeding. Philosphy and right and wrong are not the issue here...the letter of the law and the State's ability to prove it's case beyond a reasonable doubt are the issues.
Zimmerman is going to walk....
it's funny, I agree with everything you said... up until that last statement.
I think for all the above reasons that you mentioned, we will see a guilty verdict.
The actual charge remains to be seen. I'm guessing someting comparable to negligent homicide, manslaughter, or if all else fails, "being responsible for the death based upon a preponderance of evidence", but there is no doubt in my mind, given all the facts that have thus far come to light, that a jury will return a conviction.
It will be interesting to see what actual evidence gets presented in the court room.
