Hmmm.... interesting...... i still have no idea what it is supposed to achieve..... if you wanted to improve your bench why not focus on the weakest part of the lift rather than the strongest The idea as I understand it "Big"MarkC, is let's say you can lift 300lbs, then when you load the bar with 245 and 75lbs in chain = 320lbs at the top of the movement right? So if you bench that, when the bar is at your chest it is maybe 260+ and at the top it's 320, so when you lift you have to "explode" to push past the weight increase as the bar lifts the chain from the floor, this helps your weak spot as well as your lockout.....now it's the same with bands, except the bands "feel" different, it's hard to explain.... Here's Louie's explanation...... http://westside-barbell.com/westside-articles/PDF.Files/04PDF/Chains%20and%20Bands.pdfdo any of the guys here go really heavy on traps 315+ up to 405, is that heavy? Keep in mind I use the angled smith machine so the bar comes up and back, really hits the traps good.

It can hold 7 or 8 plates/side and some on the handles.

Sounds like something that would help quite a bit to increase my mega bench even further

Just a regular smith machine with a normal bar on it, but it goes up/down at an angle. Are you talking about the one you can do standing or seated shrugs?

I swear the workout partner was retarded that day and I caught some of it. We pyramided up and down and my fucking shoulder almost popped out of the socket.
