2.5 mile run - to school to hit baseballs / pitch to my son for an hour (him on bike)
1.5 mile run - to ice cream / farm.   (None for me)
2.5 mile run home - until the fucking pain in my left leg got so bad I had to walk.

This is why I fucking hate running.  No idea what's even wrong.   Hurts below knee on the outside.

Is this shin splints?
you should just do some interval on a bike... after your Lifting. still running shapes you up fast. To be honest run 3 miles and at a good Clip and you should be OK.

Cool, actually squats one of the best exercises for recovery overall if done slow and controlled no bouncing.

Chris - these are done with dumbbells, all the same weight, correct?  What type of weight are you using?

Also, since the sets start and end with burpees, do you wait a minute between sets?

For the races its all about start stop start stop etc etc.  Its not like a straight sprint or run.

So these type of workouts really do well to build the type of strength and endurance needed for prolonged events that require all around skills

12 mile Tough Mudder today.  Success.

I completed all 21 obstacles 19 solo, two with assistance   (Could not reach the top of the ten foot wall no matter what)

The hardest part by far, were the 3-4 walks up the Black Diamond ski slopes, followed by a descent on another.

Wind and muscle were fine, but knee joints / IT band were fucking shot after mile 10, so I had to do the last downhill backwards to take the pressure off the knee.  Also, got a quad cramp for the first time in my life going up hill - if I stopped, it cramped up like a baseball.  So I just kept walking and punching it and when I got to the top, it was gone..

Probably about 5 bruises and 15 cuts/scrape, but it was fucking awesome.

Experience some shit I never have - like how 35 degree ice water can fuck with you brain/muscle connection, etc.
